From thinkprogress.org: O’Reilly: iPods Are Endangering America
GamePolitics.com caught this gem from the Radio Factor with Bill O’Reilly:

I don’t own an iPod. I would never wear an iPod… If this is your primary focus in life - the machines… it’s going to have a staggeringly negative effect, all of this, for America… did you ever talk to these computer geeks? I mean, can you carry on a conversation with them? …I really fear for the United States because, believe me, the jihadists? They’re not playing the video games. They’re killing real people over there.

Remember, if you want to defeat the jihadists, don’t buy a premium membership on billoreilly.com:

Yet another example of O'Reilly not knowing what the other side of his mouth is saying.

I guess Bill O'reilly has found another phony cause instead of this "War on Christmas." I just can't wait until he starts the war on TV hosts who sexually harass their interns.

2. Besides, iPods are almost as bad as Playstations or Dishwashers when it comes
to self indulgence, superficiality and sloth!

Nothing says "self-indulgent jihadist" like a gas-guzzling SUV!

way it makes sense. Let's take a look inside the mind of Bill O':
---------------------
I don’t own an iPod. I would never wear an iPod… If this is your primary focus in life - the machines… the machines are taking over. All of them. They have hearts of iron and copper. They cannot love. They can only follow.

They're hypnotizing our geeks into automatrons. You can't talk to geeks. They use large words and complex sentence structures. Sometimes they say things about computers, and you don't understand. That's their computer brain taking over. They're getting turned into computers. And there's only one way to stop it:

Killing real people. Interacting with computer-people and computer-machines poisons you. It turns you into a robot--a robot that follows rules and laws only. Come on, listeners. Don't be a computer. You are a man of flesh and blood and will, and your will triumphs over any laws! Go and prove the laws do not bind you! You are not an enslaved computer looking up at the free, ubermensch Jihadi! Go prove you're a man! Prove it now! Kill a real person. Do it. Do it now. Do it now! Kill. KILL. KILL KILL KILL!

12. Clueless in the spin zone....
He has no idea what an iPod can do.

I have hundreds of my favorite songs and other music on my iPod, downloaded from different places and from my CDs and, gulp - my LP records, and I play them often...When I go on walks with my puppy, when I am just sitting around, or when I go to sleep at night, what a joy to have all that beautiful music at my finger tips.

Oh, did I say? I am older than 45 years old. Much, much older. Even older than rock & roll. Thanks, Steve Jobs - thanks for my iPod.

13. I'm a computer geek
And I think I'm an above average conversationalist, and if anyone ever talked to me, I could regale them with quotes from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, information about the schematics of the original starship Enterprise, and a detailed history of every computer I've ever owned from a TRS 80 to an Apple IIGS in the 80s to now.

God, I'm so lonely.

15. O'Reilly led me to DU... now, I may have to get an iPod
Back before Franken's "Lying Liars..." book came out, I had thought the media was just a barren wasteland of RW propaganda or shallow celebrity chasing.

But, thanks to O'Reilly's lawsuit against Franken, I felt I had to buy Franken's book and had my eyes opened. I went online and searched for liberal news sources, and found a site called "OReilly sucks" and then eventually found DU.

16. It's not just O'reilly -- there are DUers who also think if you have an iPod
or like game consoles you can't be politically aware.
