The Heart of the Darkness…
“Wars solve international problems.”

“If Hezbollah nukes us, we nuke Tehran and it’s all over.”

“The only way to solve the problem of Iraq is regime change.”

Until we learn just how stupid and shortsighted the above statements are, we are doomed to bigger and bigger catastrophes.

Wars do NOT solve problems, they create bigger problems. The ONLY time we should go to war is to stop an aggressor who has already started a war. And even then, after such a war, you not only have to solve the problems that created the war, but you have to clean up the destruction and blood lust created by the war.

This is why the biggest cheerleaders for war are always people who have never been in a war.

1. My favorite from the annals of darkness is:
"If we get hit by terrorists again, Bush will just nuke Mecca. That'll stop 'em!"

sigh....

2. I remember that from my college days.
Those days, btw, were in the late 1960s. That war is an efficient method of settling international conflicts was pretty much received knowledge being taught in history and geography and poli sci courses on my campus.

Some students never bought that line; others did. I guess Limbaugh was one of the ones that did.

If that statement were true, the world would have been a paradise by now.
