Please send e mail when stupidity over Rangel's proposal subsides.
I can no longer endure the irrationality, from well intentioned, ill informed posters. My God, the lunacy is simply incredible and is compounded by the fact that Rangel has introduced the same Bill on more than one occasion! Hopefully the mass hysteria will soon pass and we will be able to get back to business. Until then I will go elsewhere and seek a more mature crowd.

Please email when everyone decides to act like an adult again here. Thanks. acmejack@gmail.com

1. I like to see people angry about the war
We had no major demonstrations this past year against the war. We should be channelling this anger where it will do the most good, though.

2. All this anxiety is rediculous
I believe the fact that there is not the same type of demonstrations as there was for Vietnam is because there is no draft.

I remember Vietnam and I was part of the protests. I lost people in Vietnam and I know people who are still living in Canada.

This is a part of history that no one wants to think about. All the recent polling shows that the majority are against a draft. Rangel actually got the reaction he was looking for. Everybody's angry and afraid when there's a chance that this could effect them. What he wants now is for this discussion to be part of the public record.

There is no chance this will get enough votes. All our representatives know how unpopular a draft is to it's constituents and will not vote for this.

5. It was because it was an unjust war.

3. I'd much rather see people mad about a Republican war . . .
than a Democratic draft . . . the potential for damage the Repugs and their corporate media allies can do with this issue is breathtaking . . .
