RedStaters want to send Will Pitt to war
On Red State, they, like us, are debating what's up with the Rangel draft bill....it's really interesting to read all the comments, and some think they have the whole thing figured out. But, if you have misgivings about going there, don't go. If you read the thread see if you can pick out the one commenter that seems to be an infiltrator...I think I have him/her identified. Anyhoo, was surprised that they want to send Will Pitt off to war....What did Will do to piss off RedState, other than being a liberal Dem?

http://www.redstate.com/stories/national_security/vote_for_democrats_get_a_draft#comment

In a comment by Section9, titled Leftists are Idiots

"The Democrats will cast them loose because they have to survive politically. Democrats are not as suicidal as Republicans make them out to be. And I say this as a Republican.

They will get Democrats and they will get the draft.

I will dance a jig when William Rivers Pitt has a rifle put in his hand, courtesy of Charlie Rangel.

I say we start a fundraiser here at RedState: the "Send Markos Back to the Army" fund. He voted for these clowns. He can by God go back to his old artillery unit and train draftees.

I want to see William Rivers Pitt cook an MRE. I really do. Okay, a draft doesn't quite solve the problems and Rangel is lying through his teeth when he says that the Army is made up of Poor Black Children. However, you have to admit that the ENTIRE CROWD at DU and DailyKos deserve two years in leg infantry.

It's what they voted for."

1. Did my time
so they can kiss my ass

My husband also did his time

But where are these war cheerleaders? It is becuase of them, that we need to consider a draft, and I mean seriously consider it

than any of these posers.

7. People who have been to war are usually hesitant to send others. Warmongers
have usually never been in a war situation and have a movie type of romance with the concept of war

That's why chickenhawks can talk the talk but when the rubber hits the road they run like hell.

8. Interesting, maybe the decision to go to war should be made by
a council of those who have already been.

18. It should be
but that is the other reason why we only see a bad war every two generations.

Korea is the exception actually...

But think about it, WW II (justified by the way), started in 1940 for round numbers.

Vietnam, it really started (insofar as people are aware of it) in '65, that is almost a generation later

Iraqi Freedom... almost two generations later.

Do you see a pattern?

26. "They are all John Wayne in their daydreams, but in reality..."
...they're "Marion Morrisons"

Incidentally, IIRC Wally Cox and his boy-hood friend Marlon Brando used to lift weights together. I don't think I'd want to mess with either of them!

Cox protested in vain to reporters and interviewers over the years that he was nothing like Peepers; he was physically quite strong, hiked and rode a motorcycle and especially in his later years sometimes displayed a sarcastic and peevish personality.

Cox died of a heart attack apparently brought on by a sleeping pill overdose, in Los Angeles at the age of 48. Eventually his ashes were mingled with those of Brando and another friend and scattered in Death Valley, California.

27. How moving it was to see on UK TV, the extraordinary humility and
dignity of Pte Johnson Beharry (I think he was subsequently promoted), a humility and dignity perfectly matching his extraordinary heroism and gallantry, as he stepped forward to receive his VC from the Queen.

I couldn't help thinking immediately of the again equally extraordinary contrast in Johnson Beharry's demeanour with the simian gunslinger-style swagger of the chickenhawk leaders of our Anglo-American Axis.

There's deprivation and deprivation. For the first time ever, I felt sorry for them. Genuinely.

3. I am not allowed to comment here
except to say I wouldn't even wish that on Will Pitt.

joke - calmate.

1. I for one am far too old and exceedingly evil to serve in the military as are many here.

2. if all of our combined people from DU and DailyKOs were in the military you can be damn sure that DADT would be over and done with, and that the idiots in charge of Central Command would be resigning shortly.

3. go ahead fuckers. Give us rifles. Make our day.

4. Do the RedStaters REALLY want a bunch of angry Liberals learning how to fight and kill?
Have they seen THIS:

Arming the Left: Is the time now? --by Charles Southwell*

Or THIS:

http://www.pinkpistols.org/

Yeah, RedStaters. That's what you want to do. Send a bunch of angry, crazy left-wing moonbats to boot camp and turn them into well-disciplined killing machines at the taxpayer's expense.

Is that REALLY what they want?

5. "The entire crowd at DU deserve two years in infantry"
Wow, I guess my 24 years in uniform and one tour in a combat zone doesn't count. And my wife did four years as well.

"I want to see Pitt cook an MRE." Actually they aren't bad. We relied on them after Katrina; there is a wide menu selection, they are easy to cook and do a good job of sating one's appetite. We were at an Arts Festival in New Orleans Saturday and one exhibitor had made purses out of MRE bags, so they are functional as well.

"Its what they voted for." What did we vote for? Are conservatives whining because a democrat is proposing a solution and they sure as hell don't like it? I have to chuckle at their bravery and patriotism.

9. Those MRE's were mighty tasty after Hurricane Rita
I grew right fond of them, and am now addicted to beef jerky sticks.

It's over a year since Hurricane Rita, and we are still eating the potato chips.

Where were you?

I never once cooked an MRE either, they're called Meals, Ready to Eat for a reason. I may have heated them up once in a while (sometimess in the engine bay of my M901 ITV), but I NEVER cooked one.

25. M901? Oh, you poor bastard...
People who've driven the ITV tell me the only good thing about it is that a broken heater is a deadline item.

I never got so unfortunate. I was stuck with the fucking TTR-1A wiretap, in which you froze because if you turned the heater on you couldn't hear the people whose phones you were tapped into.

Edited on Mon Nov-20-06 02:35 PM by YOY
I've had giardia more times than most FReeps have teeth.

I've been in life threatining situations.

I've had to deal with other cultures that have beefs with Americans.

I've been the only Christian around for 50 miles in those cultures.

I spent over 2 years of my life living in conditions most Americans would sneer at.

Not looking for credit, just saying...

I suppose if I had to serve in the military I would...not in this war though. Not for their oil.

17. The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword
Is that all those chickenshits can do to try to spin this one away? I hope Jesus General is checking this out...plenty of Yellow Elephants there who'd piddle like the scared little puppies they are at the first gun shot or even taking the physical.

Will has fought the good fight...standing virtually alone and being the target of evil ridicule...but he's been right and continues to stand tall.

Yep...while people here are confused by what Rangel's doing, those chickenshits are playing right into his hand. Lets see these bastards attempt to defend keeping their kids out of the draft or justify why others should send their kids. Let's not let those bastards spin away from the blood on all their hands. Shame isn't good enough.

Kudos to Will...he's obviously drawn blood...let's cover his back.

Cheers...

28. I'd Say His Visibility And He's Been Right
The truth hurts. If he had been wrong, he'd be ignored. I know of one site that went goofy when Will stopped posting here cause they couldn't box with his ghost.

These asshats see sites like Kos, DU, TPM and others and have seen us grow in numbers and have an influence on this country. They think they can ridicule us away...and its backfiring...we're just getting bigger. Now that we have some successes under our belt, they think they can diminish our accomplishments by belittling it.

Just think of them as self, arrogant and ignorant children.
