The Case for Impeachment by Lindorff and Olshansky
Hey guys,

I'm reading the book "The Case for Impeachment: The Legal Argument for Removing President George W. Bush from Office" by Dave Lindorff and Barbara Olshansky right now. It's a great book. What I've read so far is very informative and comprehensive.

I've started thinking about oversight, investigations and hearings. Obviously we want to do all this before we go to impeachment. We've got to gather up our evidence. Conyers, Leahy, Waxman, Slaughter and Kucinich will certainly have their work cut out for them. But I think the various on-going investigations by the Justice Department will probably make things easier and move things along quicker. Think about it, there's the Justice Department investigations into Abramoff, Cunningham, MZM, Hookergate, Coingate, New Hampshire Phone Jamming and AIPAC, the FBI investigations into the Niger forgeries, Fitzgerald's Plame investigation and the Justice Department and SEC investigations into Enron, Halliburton, Harken Energy, WorldCom, Citigroup, etc. Just having subpoena power means we can subpoena all documents and records from the various government agencies and bring in witnesses. I'm sure many of them have already testified before grand juries. Federal Investigators, Justice Department Prosecutors and Independent Counsels can bring evidence before the Committees. There's also whistleblowers like Sibel Edmonds, Russell Tice, Richard Grove, Indira Sangh, Richard Clarke, James Comey, Bunny Greenhouse, Lawrence Wilkerson, etc. who can testify under oath before the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, the House Government Reform Committee and the various House Subcommittees and National Security and Oversight and Investigations. So maybe making a case for impeachment won't be as hard as we think.

I'm going back to reading my book. Talk to you soon.
