So, this evening, I had a wonderful time... New friends, new places... A wonderful time!

But for one instance... I was stopped by the police. With due cause no less!

They asked me to stick around for the purpose of positively identifying a rapist. My youngest sister was raped two years ago. It's not something that I prefer to discuss, but in this case, I'll mske an exception. He was arrested today, as I happened to randomly wander by in a semi-drunken stupor.

At first, I didn't know who he was. When I found out, I literally tried to kill him. It was and is only the kindness of the jailer that has kept me a free man thus far... I don't even know what to say, except that if I see my sister's abuser, I WILL KILL HIM. I doubt that most of you can understand that, and you are all welcome to denigrate me as you see fit, but I warn all others that you insult my family at your own peril... Be warned...

I knew someone whose underage daughter was sexually abused. They worked through the legal system to have the abuser arrested and jailed. They got counseling for their daughter.

I mentioned to the mother that I would have killed the guy if it had been my child. She said words to the effect that members of a civilized society use the protections of that society, such as law enforcement and courts, to protect themselves. Mob rule and vigilantism are bad ideas. I was surprised, but I think she had dealt with her anger.

In their case, it worked. It seems like it is going to work for your sister, too. Of course it will not erase your sister's pain and fear, or your anger.

The system doesn't always work for people. I think I understand revenge more in those cases. Don't give up your own freedom for this. Find other ways to get this guy. That said, I still understand why you want to kill him.
