We're ALL Psychic! We predicted total disaster if w became president. |
|
We should all be on the psychic hotline making millions, because we all predicted that the nation would be almost exactly where it currently is after 6 years of jr. bush. Saturday night live even did a skit with Will Ferrel as bush with the white house burning down around him and the city behind him in ruins wondering what happened in only two short weeks as president.
Now here we are, right where we all predicted we'd be, on the very brink of absolute disaster, national, global disaster. At crisis level, the constitution itself under treasonous attack, exactly as we all predicted.
Now, let's predict this mother fucker gone.

I feared Bush becoming president, because I knew he would be awful. However, I cannot possibly say that I thought it would be THIS bad. I knew we'd have deficits, cuts in social programs, attempts to privative social security, a fiscal crisis that would put social security and medicare in danger, and horrible environmental policies. I could also have predicted his apathy at the health care crisis and energy crisis, if I had thought about it.
But come on, can anyone have predicted he'd lie to get us into a war, torture prisoners, destroy democratic civil liberties, etc?

5. Nothing psychic about it. Simple observation could tell any intelligent person |
|
what was going to happen. The knowledge of what he had done in Texas, and every business he managed prior to that were total failures. It is more like the realization of our worst fears than being psychic.
We were all correct though in our predictions of disaster, but I don't think we could have predicted it would be this bad.

... I'm working at a new job and getting to know my coworkers. One day a few weeks ago we were all bs-ing and one guy said "I've met George Bush, I grew up in Midland".
Well, I let it drop right there because I'm into getting along with my team and I try hard to leave politics at home, at least for now. I assumed he was about to come to George's defense, just based on the tone of his remark.
Flash forward a few weeks. We were all bs-ing again and politics came up. This guy chimes in again, "everyone in Midland knew George, it was a small town. I'd walk into a bar and he'd be there with his girlfriend". I couldn't restrain my curiosity any longer. "What's he like?" I asked.
"He's a fucking idiot" he said. Then he went on to explain that he couldn't run an oil company, couldn't do anything really. His theory is that they shuffled him off to Austin to get him the hell out of Midland :)
on edit - and BTW, he says Laura is a carbon copy of Babs, a hard, hard woman. Also a hard-core smoker, not that there is anything wrong with that.
It was pretty funny.

14. I'm just imagining him bellying up to the bar, asking for his favorite ... |

A "B&B"! Oooh, a fancy cocktail from Manhattan! "Walk into the Wall St. Bar and Grill, in the business centre, and have a drink. I briefly considered ordering a Benedictine and brandy, Bush's preferred drink during his well-lubricated years here, but settle for a beer instead." http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20010120.TRBUSH/TPStory/Travel/?pageRequested=2

6. Thank You ...Thank You!.. Actually though...It was fairly easy..... |
|
...Given the fact that George Bush has screwed up everything that he has ever tried to do PLUS the fact that Republicans have a shitty track record when it comes to ensuring happiness for most Americans...

that historians will view him as the best president in the history of the USA. Well, I'm something of a historian, and I don't see how that could be.

9. Only the bought and paid for historians will. |

They can't easily bullshit this loser's legacy like they did Rea-gone's. Great presidencies are built on accomplishments and at least ONE acheivement for the working classes and the poor. I challenge these wingdings to name ONE thing he's done right for the middle/working class/poor. Hell, I want them to name one thing he's done right, PERIOD.
Still waiting . . .
. . . think I'll go microwave some food, I'll be back . . .
See what I'm saying?

10. But he did do something for the poor! |
|
He cut taxes to the rich! Don't you see? That way, more money trickles down to the poor! It's rather simple is it not? :sarcasm:

And if they do, they'll get shot down by smart historians.

The fact that 50% of the country didn't get that going in is amazing.
Even more amazing is that dumbshit is a two-term president.
Does anyone kind of get suspicious why the corporate powers that be were short of burning rule books so this dick could get in? I mean, were they not over-the-top desperate??

I predict...
1. The new congress will bring with it a new era of gridlock and disharmony. A grateful country will breath a sigh of relief.
2. The president and vice president will leave office before the end of their terms.
3. Operations in Iraq will begin wrapping up within one year. Plans for invasion of Iran and Syria will be scrapped.
4. The United States will issue a formal apology to the entire world from the floor of the United Nations for the misguided actions of its leadership.
5. To avoid prosecution, Bush, Cheney and all other cronies will move to a 98k acre ranch in Paraguay.
If these predictions prove inaccurate, ignore it because I'll be pointing to the other thread where I predicted the exact opposite.

16. I joked about what would happen if Bush had to lead us through a war |
|
In my wildest dreams I couldn't have seriously predicted where we would be at today. Bush pre 9/11 was nothing more than an un-funny joke. Bush post 9/11 is a fucking nightmare.
