Good Grief! I don't know whether to laugh or cry
I'm sure many of you are familiar with Jesus' General, over at http://patriotboy.blogspot.com/
He's suggesting that the Republican caucus adopt the same rules for their caucus as the rules from the student handbook at Pensacola Christian College. These were so outre that I thought they were a joke at first, but the site they're from (not the official college site) has taken these from actual handbooks from P.C.C. Here's some of my favorites:

You may not shave your head (Caucasian students only...)

You may not allow the end of your belt to hang down from the belt-loops resembling a phallus.

A swimming suit/shorts may not be worn while traveling to the beach, although there are no changing rooms at the men's required beach.

You may not put up a picture of unmarried people in physical contact unless they are "little kids." (these are sold in the bookstore).

You may not wipe "boogers" on the wall. This is being cracked down on.

No extra studying during exams.

You may not go to a public library.

much more at http://www.pensacolachristiancollege.com/rules.htm

This must be where Jesus Camp graduates end up, before they're released into society.

:wow:

10. Just the fact that
they had to put this in their handbook as a "rule" speaks volumes for the student body.

17. In actuality, the Hitler Jugend and the League of German Girls. . .
engaged in extraordinary sexual license, driven as they were by Nazi racial doctrines and the necessities implicit in the geopolitical directives of Lebensraum.

18. Hum-mm, I thought that came later when they were 17-18, but
....that makes sense, increase the Aryan race and the numbers of young boys who would become Nazi storm troopers.

4. Let 'em ... let the whole GOP party adopt this platform ...
... then we'll never ever never again have to worry about a GOP congress or President, because it's so whacko that 96% of the American people wouldn't get anywhere near it.

5. "You may not go to a public library." Ah, now we come to it.
Anything that makes them question their blind obedience to their totalitarian system of thought is the enemy. Experimenting cannot be allowed if Fundyism can be disproven by it.

as an institution of higher education.

"Little kids"????? "Little kids"??? -- what, they only want poster of midgets posing as little kids? I'm confused.

13. That's why I thought it was a joke at first
The actual site for the college is different, but this site has taken the rules from the college handbook from '96 and '97.

12. They're not just 'released into society' though
These kids are being groomed for positions of leadership in our government and top positions. That's the most frightening aspect of the whole thing, to me. It would be different if they were just doing their thing (so to speak) and moving on to live their lives. They're not.

They're creating a whole generation that they aim to have control through governing. In order to be successful toward that aim a lot of it is who you know. Contacts, contacts, contacts. :scared:

16. They're confused by this, too
Rest of the entry under shaving heads:

You may not shave your head (Caucasian students only; it is unclear how this is to be interpreted for Asian-Americans/Indian-Americans. All we can suggest is to consult your floorleader). Violation will result in being sent home for two weeks (your expense).

23. don't have to worry about mixed heritage
I checked their application to see if there was any craziness there, and they ask for a picture. That's a good way to weed out all of the non-pure white people.

15. Omigawd!
Seriously seriously funny and stupid!!

Now I understand something that happened years ago at a family reunion. I have some really fundie relatives, including my three siblings, and half my nephews and neices went to PCC. One day I was teasing a neice's little boy, telling him how I taught my own boys to wipe their boogers on the instep of their shoes :) and my neice went bananas. Uncle had committed a terrible offense, teaching a little one such heinous booger management.

19. Pictures
You may not put up a picture of unmarried people in physical contact unless they are "little kids." (these are sold in the bookstore).

No pictures of two men shaking hands? No posters of football tackles? No pictures of your mother hugging you at your high school graduation? No pictures of a minister comforting a parishioner?

And why do they go out of their way to mention that you can get pictures of little kids in physical contact at the bookstore? That's a little weird.

And why the quotes around "little kids"?

21. No horseplay, and no looking at horseplay!
Horseplay. This is completely subjective and can be for anything from loudness to throwing a pillow.

"Indirect Horseplay." This appears to be watching "horseplay" from a distance without doing anything to stop it/being entertained by it.

Men may not give their suit jacket to their date.

Siblings of the opposite sex should not interact in unchaperoned areas to abstain from the "appearance of evil."

This is the funniest thing I've read in a long time, but it's scary how they're indoctrinating their students. Authoritarian brainwashing at its best!

24. Ah, so this is why the NSA is so accepted
by RWingers:

"It should be noted that at any time, the administration (or students authorized by the administration) may go through your room, unannounced, looking for anything unauthorized. Legally or not, this will include opening drawers and going through paperwork. You may or may not be present, and you may or may not be notified."

This sounds like such a fun place to attend college! :woohoo:

Kick for the morning crowd.
