When celebrities get caught saying or doing stupid things, they generally apologize quickly, not always sincerely, but they at least make the effort and the statement. I doubt bush ever will, in fact, given the opportunity to, he declined.

Do you think he ever will, or does he just not have that in him, like dick cheney?

1. His apology would mean nothing.
War crimes? Now there's a goal worth working for.

2. I see some kind of late-in-life revelation, like McNamara....
He'll get old, and after decades of seeing his name drubbed as the "worst POTUS in history" and after seeing what has happened to the Middle East by that time, the old pangs of conscience and regret will come.

6. I don't think so. He's a sociopath, and is incapable of regret.
Sociopaths don't change; they always remain what they always were, people with no conscience.

14. They thought the same of McNamara and Westmoreland, too...
But, on second thought, you're probably right. He'll go to his grave believing he was anointed by Gawd®.

Like actually finding Jesus, instead of pretending he did.

10. An apology from Bush would be meaningless. He doesn't seem
capable of feeling remorse, therefore, an apology from him would just be empty words and wouldn't represent any actual feelings of sorrow or regret. Anyone can mouth the words, but withough the emotions its just a wasted and meaningless effort.

11. I don't give a shit. I only want to see him imprisoned, along with his cronies.
Duhbya's personality disorder makes what he 'thinks' or 'feels' or says totally irrelevant. It's irrelevant to fact, irrelevant to truth and irrelevant to his crimes. He's an untreatable pathological narcissist with strong soociopathic influences and deserves only to be deprived of the company of human beings for the rest of his miserable life.

12. I'd settle for just seeing the nation recover...
recover from the vast array of damages wrought by this President, his Administration and the Republican Congress. Even just living long enough to see a major fraction of the policies enacted by those corrupt entities would be worthy of celebrating...

Alas, I suspect that even if we had a significant majority in both houses of Congress AND the Presidency, it would take decades, if not generations to undo the harm--heck, it may take that long to undo just the changes in policy and law. We have our work cut out for us.

Applying the concept of "opportunity cost" to this sorry episode (2001-2008) means we will forever mourn "what might have been". We can't get those years back; we can't make a trillion and more dollars of debt disappear (though reinstating the 2000 Tax Rates** RETROACTIVELY, at least upon those more wealthy people and corporations, might help); and we can't undo all the damage we've done to the people of other countries, much less ourselves. The list of what can't be made up for is long; the possiblity of even reversing the policies involved isn't even good, yet... for there's much we still cannot do--without the Presidency on board, and with such small majorities--and with an upcoming critical Presidential Election (we can't rock the boat too much--yet we must...).

**adjusted for inflation and perhaps with penalties...

I hope to see justice done someday and bu$h, Cheney, Rummy, Kindasleazy all pay for their crimes against this nation and the world.

was anything other than Bush, the best he could've hope for in life is what? Assistant football coach at Crap State? I don't, per se blame W. for being the idiot he is. The only apology I want if from Rove, that cynical bastard that propped W. up all these years.

17. No. People on that level never apologize. :(
And I think about maimed Iraqi children, who did nothing, and some have fewer parents or fewer limbs now. Just because this man wanted to show off to Daddy.

Only karma can catch him and his cronies now.
