1. I would take it into the post office |
|
and ask to speak to a supervisor. It could be a coincidence, but more than likely it's not, knowing what you know about the postman. I would report it.

3. If you think it was done intentionally, I'd take it to the Postmaster General |
|
in the city where you live and file a complaint. There is no excuse for that at all. If he's bitter because the GOP lost big, then he should focus that energy toward changing his party instead of taking it out on others.

4. I would tend to say coincidence |

I've been in a similar circumstance. Almost always, there is a letter at the bottom that's been crumpled by latter mail. Check the postmarks: I'll bet the letter from Tester was one of the first to arrive.

5. Take the crumpled up mailing to the postmaster. Show the |
|
condition of the other mail to show it was singled out. Did the Tester mailing arrive after the election? If it was, it was delayed. The Post Office prides itself as being non partisan.
I had trouble with a right wing swing man. He was my sub and was very lazy. He wouldn't deliver mail if it meant climbing stairs, or if the house was set back from the street.

6. March right in, letter in hand, and speak to his supervisor... |
|
Postal route jobs are highly prized in the USPS. If this assclown can't compose himself any better than a pouty gradeschooler, there's plenty of willing bodies behind him who'd love his job.

9. Go to your local branch, and ask to speak with the Postmaster |
|
S/he will straighten out both your mail delivery problem and that carrier faster than you can say "ZIP Code".

that repuke has to see it everytime. They might complain about it, but usually bullies have no balls & they will just ignore it. :)

11. We had a post woman who volunteered on our team -- |
|
She told of horrendous stories about mail for Democrats being diverted out of state purposefully to delay delivery, carriers and post workers throwing things away, and, in one case, which apparently made the news in '04 but I never caught the story, an entire mail truck of Kerry/Edwards stuff that ended up out of state, lost.
Yes, it happens on purpose in many cases, according to this woman. She said that they receive complaints routinely, and she encouraged anyone who suspects their mail is damaged or delayed for "political" reasons to complain, loudly, to high levels of authority. She said that she did not think there was a concerted effort at the top, but individuals who handle the mail at lower levels will go to extremes to do these things and they need to be reprimanded, or in some cases, fired.

and the likelihood of them being a hardcore republican was rare. Unless they were higher ups. But even then it was very rare.

The USPS is full of them.
Personally, I'd be grateful he didn't GO postal and shoot my windows out.
It's a small protest from a hardworking guy who happens to be WRONG. I'd let it go.

17. My postal delivery is outsourced |
|
to individual contractors who bid on the routes. Contracts seem to last for a couple of years or so. That may or may not apply to other (non-rural) areas of the country.

16. I'll also say coincidence... |

Since you were out of town all week, it's likely that--like Techbear said--the Tester one just came first and was crushed by all the latter mail.
The more likely party to blame would be the other companies that send you unsolicited mail that the postal carriers have to deliver: even when it's obvious that nothing else will fit, they have to make it fit, which usually results in something getting crushed.
Before complaining to other supervisors, I would go to other people that you know (or figure) have contributed to Tester and are on the same mail route, and see if the same thing happened to them, because if it really is just a coincidence, going to the guy's supervisor would make him want to destroy your mail!

18. Test it. Call and ask for another Tester mailing and or some |
|
other hotly hated winner.
Save your first one and document it with dates (range in your case). Build a case before going to the PO.

your regular Post office guy is a rethug, you ought to let it go since presumably since you said postman or postwoman above, your not entirely certain it was him that did it. No sense in getting someone else in trouble if you don't have the same postperson every day.
