1. It's interesting that despite Rudy's postive ratings he isn't
well ahead of anybody in the poll.

14. Most people....
don't know anything about RG. They know what they saw on 9/11 and subsequently. The majority of folks on the left don't know about his terrible civil rights record in the city and folks on the right don't know about his nasty marital history, his belief in a woman's right to choose what happens to her own body, his support of gay civil rights, and most especially his staunch anti-gun history. He's going to get slammed by both sides. And he has plenty of skeletons in the closet too. This should be interesting to watch, but it ain't gonna be pretty.

2. Giuliani figures mean nothing, He cannot appeal to Repub base...
... unless the Repub base does a 180 on divorce/adultery/fornication and abortion.
He is atypical of the Republican Party preferences right now --but most Repubs are not aware of his positions and background.

Wait till they learn he lived with his 'girlfriend' while divorcing his wife, took his 'girlfriend' to public functions, and is pro-choice on abortion.

There are other issues -- but if he cannot get a large segment of his Party to support him, he is dead as a Presidential candidate.

4. i think the girlfriend charge
doesn't mean a lot with the repub base. now the abortion one is a different story.

i believe the obama/edwards or obama/kerry ticket would be a great one for this country.

5. gun nuts too
Giuliani MAY be able to ride his warm and fuzzy 9/11 glow with the masses long enough to overconme the loss of either the religious right morality police OR the militia/hunting/RKBA gun nuts from his base but he's gonna lose both.

7. It's not the moderates who vote in the primaries, it is the
true believers. Rudy might have an uphill battle with the hard core theocratic Republicans who control the primaries.

6. That doesn't make sense
Why is Obama winnign against Giuliani on the Giuliani tab, and losing to him on the Obama tab?

10. Typo?
I followed their links and found this...

Election Polls 2008:
2008 Presidential Election

Giuliani vs. Obama

Rudy Giuliani (R) 48%
Barack Obama (D) 39%
Some Other Candidate 7%
Not Sure 5%

Not good for a polling site to have typos.
:D

8. Interesting poll
in that the ONLY Democratic candidate that wins against the two likely Republican candidates, Giuliani and McCain, is Al Gore looks to be able to beat Giuliani but even that is within the margin of error. I think the message there is that we as Democratic need to strengthen our image with the overall voter base. We need to take the GOP to task and do what we say and say what we mean. We have to show that we really are "better than the other guy" through our actions. The GOP is the party of spin and redacting. We are better than that and we need to use this opportunity to prove it once and for all.

9. Repub Sheep Listen to Rush & Dobson, But They Do React When Code Words Used
Abortion, adultery, homosexuality, etc.

I doubt anyone could put a 'shine' on Giuliani sufficient to overcome this kind of reaction.

12. Who is Rush's candidate in 08 ?
Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 03:38 PM by Bombtrack
Or for that matter Hannity ?

The only radio douchebags who have a clear candidate I know about as of now are Imus (McCain) and Jay Severin (Mitt Romney).

13. Interesting that it's the same tired people they poll over and over
again when we all know polls in mid-cycle don't reflect squat.

Heck, Lieberman was winning all the polls in January 2003.
