Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 02:58 PM by opihimoimoi
and the Pubs are saying::: since the Dems won this election 3 weeks ago, they gatta fix it....which is, of course, BS.

The large picture indicates a total failure to understand Sun Tzu and other military books.

Because Bush doesn't read much he is very ignorant in many arenas/realms...thus weak when in discussing serious shit...hence he falls back to the Cheers Mode...

But TRAPPED...he somehow got us TRAPPED? DAMNED if we Leave and DAMNED if we STAY?

WHAT WERE those GOPers thinking when they supported this DUDE...twice?

Laurel and Hardy Time: "Bushie, thats a fine mess you got us in"

NOW WHAT Mr Presinent? What say YOU re this Mess?

The People are looking to YOU for the ANSWERS/SOLUTIONS

and after waiting for 2 years or so....the evidence is you HAVE NO ANSWERS.....All you have offered Mr Bush is CRAP....

3. I think Bartcop summed it up years ago.
Any time you make a mistake and you make money doing it, expect to make that mistake over and over.

Something like that.

With a half trillion dollar military budget, how can they dare stop?

We need to defund them.

4. You beat me to it! We cannot leave b/c there is still money to be made...
A bit cynical, but there has never been a payday like this for the no-bid contractors and oil industry. They just cannot tear themselves away from the massive infusion of taxpayer money being delivered directly to them with absolutely no oversight.

One oil company is making money on both ends so quickly they cannot find enough new places to invest it in order to keep from reporting a $10 billion profit last quarter.

I think nothing less than a cut off in funding will bring this catastrophe to an end. And that has nothing to do with whether we support the troops or not. Supporting the troops includes bringing them home now, and not until all the parasites have been fed with the last of taxpayer funds.

9. A problem, not an easy one...do I stay...do I go? Bush is known for his wisdom
However, in this case...we have yet to locate any such thing. There seems an odd silence from his left part of the brain..where creativity resides, its been quite quiet there.....

Has he looked under his desk and tables for the Missing Neurons of Mass Deception??

Come, we go look for shaved ice and ice cream...soooo onolicious

12. Yeah. It'd be nice if some of these rightwingers who just jumped on the antiwar train
would maybe apologize for calling people like me things like "anti-american dirtbags" for saying in 2003 what they're saying now.

15. President Bush Brings Empty Photo-Ops and Failed Iraq Strategy to Hawaii
11/21/2006 3:15:00 PM

To: State Desk

Contact: Damien LaVera of the Democratic National Committee, 202-863-8148

WASHINGTON, Nov. 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Just days after former Secretary of State and frequent Bush advisor Henry Kissinger joined the growing chorus of war supporters publicly criticizing the Bush Administration's handling of the war in Iraq, President Bush today is bringing his failed, stay the course approach to the war in Iraq to Hawaii. This latest photo-op with the troops comes just two weeks after the American people sent a clear message by rejecting his party's permanent commitment to a failed strategy in Iraq and by electing a Democratic Congress.

The American people want a new direction in Iraq. Post- election polls showed that 37 percent of Americans said "the war in Iraq should be at the top of the congressional agenda during the next two years," more than 22 points higher than the second ranked issue. (AP, 11/15/06) When the new Congress convenes next year, Democrats will work to implement a comprehensive strategy for Iraq that includes:

-- a phased redeployment of our troops and, for troops remaining in Iraq, a refocusing of their mission on counter- terrorism, training, logistics and force protection;

-- placing real pressure on the Iraqi leadership to reach a sustainable political settlement that resolves critical issues of federalism, oil revenue sharing, combating militias, and achieving a fair power sharing arrangement;

-- calling on the Bush Administration to convene an international conference and develop a regional strategy to support a political settlement in Iraq and to preserve Iraq's sovereignty; and

-- laying out real benchmarks for the Iraqi government to make clear that Iraqis need to take responsibility for the future of their country.

"Voters in Hawaii and across the country sent a clear message rejecting the Bush Administration's permanent commitment to a failed strategy in Iraq," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Damien LaVera. "Democrats are united behind a tough and smart plan to change course in Iraq. At every critical juncture in Iraq, Democrats have offered detailed, constructive criticism and a way forward. Now that the election is over, it is time for President Bush and the Republicans in Washington to listen to the American people and join Democrats in offering a new direction in Iraq."
