1. I need food so I'll be on Target's door step 5AM
I live alone, I am poor, and Target is having a great store wide sale Friday. Sorry, I'm shopping to survive, not to buy gifts.

3. Good luck.
I hope for your sake all the bargain-sniffing, crazed, tickle-me-elmo-obsessed, middle-aged hefty get-out-of-my-way-or-die subhuman shoppers go to WALMART!

10. Friday is the best day
to go to the grocery stores. Most of the Thanksgiving day sale ads are still in effect (except for the turkey prices in our area) and it is traditionally the slowest day of the year in the grocery business. It might be much easier, you will find a better selection of food products, show up anytime during normal hours and have a lot less stress to just go there and skip Target which will be a nut house on Friday.

2. I am getting my muffler replaced
It is a necessity that just happens to fall on Friday, so I don't think it counts. :D

4. And then make sure to do all your shopping on Saturday.

These things like the "stick it to the oil companies and don't buy gas on X day" are silly and accomplish nothing.

8. Agreed and Well Said.
They are just silly. I will not shop at Wal Mart, but beyond that if the deals are good and it's something I want or need then I will happily go to the stores.

5. I'll be nowhere near the stores on Friday.
I'll be bar-hopping and maybe going to the movies, but that's about it.

11. I would wager that this 'protest'
will do nothing in the long run and in the short run people will be all over the stores on Friday...

13. do you even get good deals?
I've never gone shopping on black Friday, not for some ineffective protest, but because I don't want to sit through the lines.

Are the prices that much better on Friday than they were on Thursday or they will be on Saturday?

And if they are, and there are so many people shopping, why discount the prices at all? If the demand increases, and the supply is the same, then the prices should go up - not down.

15. I love consumerism.
I'll be sure to go and buy Gears of War for 360 this Friday. Looks like an awesome game, and Im gonna get it for an awesome price! You can complain about "consumerism" but I don't see how not shopping 1 day will change anything.
