"The Oaxaca State attorney General's news conferance that pretended to have new facts and evidence which proves that Brad was shot twice at close range from the same gun but with the shots 20 minutes apart seems to be the extent of their proof- only that they claim it. The original unedited coronor's report is in their hands but copies were made immedietely after the the report was written, and the US embassy in Mexico city was one agency that recieved it, as well as the Mexican National Human Rights commision. In his report the coronor, a competent and very experience forensic pathologest found that the two 9mm bullets that hit Brad were fired from a distance of at least 45 meters(50 feet), and that the one that hit him in the strernum caused death within minutes. The bullets were "dum-dum'd" to expand on entry. The wound in Brad's side is impossible to see in the video footage that has been shown publicly, but it was a very small entry wound that was barely visible even at the hospital were he was brought. Even had there been an ambulance available immedietly, or the first car (volkswagen) not run out of gas on the way the hospital (replaced by a borrowed pickup), it would have been too late to save Brad. The audio recordings on Brad's camera do not prove any of the atorney general's theory that Brad was shot at very close range after beeing threatened by voices next to him.
The camera and original tape are safe in the US with his family. The corornor has withstood pressure from several previous govenors to change the facts on his reports after his findings proved embarrasing to the police, but this govenor is a more vicious sort of beast and no one should blaim the coronor if this time he decides to sign off on a false new report, rather than end up being autopsied himself by a more complient replacement. No forensics report that substanciates the govt's theory has been presented publicly to this point. Any that does will be a fake.
The State atorney general's office will never do a fair investigation (they are a bunch of political patronage apointment hacks with no real training in real investigations in any case) so don't expect justice here. They have no credibility with anyone.
Many witnesses who were at the scene of the shooting agree that there were some from the barricade who had pistols and did shoot them, defensively toward the attacking police, but none of these armed APPO's were in a posicion to have shot Brad when he was hit. Most likely the fatal shots were fired from the building where police where holed up and blasting away, about 50-60 feet away from Brad, who was shooting footage of the APPO attack on that building. Other police were advancing down the street and shooting at that same time, toward the barricade and they have been identified from video footage from several cameras. One of them may have been the shooter that killed Brad. We'll never know."
