U.S. legislator warns of Bush plot to merge Canada, the U.S. and Mexico
Beth Gorham, The Canadian Press
Published: Tuesday, November 21, 2006

WASHINGTON -- A U.S. legislator who backs tough anti-immigrant measures and more security at the Canada-U.S. border is warning Americans that President George W. Bush is plotting to integrate the continent.

And he says Prime Minister Stephen Harper “buys into it.”

Colorado Republican Tom Tancredo, revered by some U.S. conservatives for his efforts to staunch the flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico, said this week that Bush is a dangerous internationalist.

“He is going to do what he can to create a place where the idea of America is just that, it’s an idea. It’s not an actual place defined by borders. I mean this is where the guy is really going,” he told WorldNetDaily, a controversial conservative website.

“I know this is dramatic, or maybe somebody would say overly dramatic. But I’m telling you that everything I see leads me to believe that this whole idea of the North American union, it’s not something that’s just written about by right-wing fringe kooks,” said Tancredo, who is considering a run at the presidency.

2. I'd normally say this guy was nuts, EXCEPT for the fact that
it's the Decider he's talking about.

I think its possible for any looney tunes idea to be rolling around in that space between those two pointy ears.

4. Well, that would remove the "illegal" and "immigrant" from
a large demographic were they merely moving from "state" to "state" . . .

6. Tancredo must not have any idea how much the Canadians hate
the U.S. The government of Canada is now right wing and might be willing to move closer to us but I guarantee, the people would NEVER go for it!!

7. Tancredo's one trick pony is the "brown menace".
“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” H.L. Mencken

they have already started work on the super highway in Texas. highway goes from port in Mex., up thru the US and into Can. till it reaches where the waterway that is opening because the ice is melting.

Can, US, and Mex. borders to be open all with the same currency.

US will guard Mex. southern border.

9. Whatever you think of Tancredo, the borderless world and "America the idea" are spot on
Globalism is creating a world without borders for multinational corporations who are driving the price of labor and any union protections for the worker down to zero. Even more ominously, it is driving national sovreignty out of actual practice.

Immigrants (legal and "illegal") are being used to drive down the cost of labor, both in North America and Europe. A recent Marketplace report on NPR talked about British businesses lobbying the British government to stop the immigration that they had lobbied FOR earlier from Eastern Europe "to check wage inflation". Apparently wages had been driven down enough by the movement of cheap labor from East to West that this labor (immigrants) was no longer needed.
