Annoying Washington Journal Callers |
|
"First time caller"
You'll hear it about a half a dozen times each weekday morning on Washington Journal. It just annoys the hell out of me. People calling into C-Span and acting like it was a morning yahoo talk show on some country-music station.

At least. I wish the hosts would more often ask the "data source" for those idiots who call in and make stuff up. The Professor

2. I get annoyed with some of the callers, too |
|
but not because they identify themselves as first time callers. CSPAN encourages new callers, which compels people to identify themselves as such. I guess I just don't see it as a big deal.

5. LOL! I've thought about some of the most frequently used phrases on there, too |
|
"You people better wake up!", or variations such as "these libruls better wake up", or "America better wake up"
"Please don't hang up on me", or "don't cut me off"
"I can't believe I got through"
"Hello? Can you hear me?"
"Ahh've got news for you people"
and the biggest :puke:
"We need to stand behind our president"

6. I knew it! Regarding why southerners vote Republican |
|
Thomas Schaller--this is the first time I've heard or him, but he is spot on. All the moral issues are simply smokescreens. It is about race, those slavery maps vs. red /blue states make it crystal clear to anyone who doesn't believe. Bill Clinton and other Democratic presidents are seen as giving blacks too many rights and priviledges.

7. It's ALWAYS been about race.. |
|
People mistakenly believe that "slavery happened 400 years ago"
Fact:..
a 72 year old person TODAY, could have actually spoken to someone who had BEEN a slave..
It is NOT "in our distant past"
How is this possible?
a person born in 1857, would have been 8 years old in 1865..
that person would have been 85 years old in 1942, and could easily have been a neighbor to someone born in 1934 (that person would have been 8 years old, and would have easily remembered stories told to him/her by an elderly neighbor)
