Republican Revisionist History... |
|
We can expect a lot of revision to take place between now and the election of 2008. We will never know how great our economy was doing under the Republicans until the Democrats take power. We will never understand the magic of their tax cuts until they revise the numbers for all of us. Although the Repubs are skipping out of town without even putting a budget on the table, they will blame the Democrats for next years "bad" numbers. That's what they do - they blame others for their own failures.
And do not expect any troops to be withdrawn from Iraq under George W Bush. His father spoke the truth yesterday while being badgered in a Middle Eastern country. And when the troops come home after Bush is gone, the Republican revisionism will be that the Democrats "lost" the war. Just like Vietnam, they did not have the backbone or courage to stay the course and "win the war".
Republicans are good at revisionism. Just as they revised Ronald Reagan's "conservatism". Just as they revised their expertise in foreign affairs. Just as they revised their leadership over our military. Just as they revised their "fiscal conservatism". Just as they will revise their corrupt rule of the last twelve years. It's what they do.

1. They've been revising in advance for a few years now. |
|
The actual state of the economy is HORRIBLY BAD, and there's no real hope of recovery as things stand right now.
REAL unemployment is well past 10%, inflation is so bad that they REFUSE to even use any real numbers to define it, and the economy is creating one new minimum-wage job for every TWO median-income positions it loses.

It's not that I don't CARE, but I'm not as young as I used to be. Sometimes, by the time I FINALLY finish pecking out a serious response, I've forgotten that I wanted to recommend the OP.
Like GrandpaSteele always said: "It's no SIN to get old...it's just damned inconvenient."

10. This thread needs to be K&R...The GOP Lies Cheats Steals |
|
They play dirty, they use the rules not for fairness but to advance their agenda, their goal...which is to dominate to control
they are poor losers, they never come together to help for the COMMON GOOD
They are the reason we have so much misery in this great Nation of ours...their track record speaks for itself...it sucks.
Benevolency, altruism, sharing, caring, helping, teaching, inspiring, etc...all the good things in Humanity is MISSING from the GOP's list of adjectives....
Instead....they blame, denigrate, distort, etc///all the bad things Humans do....
Come, we search for the CURE

16. This post should be a thread of its own. |
|
When you get right down to it, when you discard all the propaganda and SPIN and buzzwords and rhetoric... there is a very BASIC difference between "US" and "THEM".
And your post touches upon that DIFFERENCE.
Personally, I don't think that this concept can be explained often enough, or in too many ways. It needs to be repeated over, and over, and over, in as many ways as it takes until EVERYONE "gets it".

Neat version of the song and worth it's own OP if I use the dean/kerry picture posted in the replies perhaps. Lying is just entry-level Repuke-ism. They quickly graduate to vote tampering, swift boating and tinkering with the engines of small planes carrying Democrats.
