The official "I'm thankful for....." thread. |
|
Started early for those of us who will be slaving over hot stoves and dirty dishes tomorrow.
This year I'm thankful for ...
1. A loving husband and children and the blessing of grandbabies to keep us all young. 2. The recovery of my health and chance to start again 3. Enough...just having a roof over my head and food in the cupboards 4. Skinner and crew and DU, and all my fellow DUers who stood together for change when the nation's leaders refused to. 5. The words of our Constitution that have meaning even today so long as we live by them. 6. So many people were willing to stand for what is right and VOTE THEM OUT!!!
....As I said before, a chance to start again.
Early Happy Thanksgiving, DU!
Now I have to go check the pies.

1. I am grateful to have the money to |
|
buy ingredients to make pies and other Thanksgiving goodies and then to have a stove and pots/pans to cook them in my home.
I am grateful for having a roof over my head and being able to provide a nice meal for my family and a few friends.
I am grateful for the November elections so others not so economically fortunate this Thanksgiving can have hope for their future abundance.
I am grateful for DU - because otherwise the past two years would have been quite frustrating - not to mention lonely without being able to talk with others similarly frustrated about the * administration.
Thanks Skidmore - for the oppty to say thanks today!

-my wonderful partner -my offline family -my DU family -the new democratic house and senate -a good job, and one I enjoy -finding a combination of migraine preventatives that keep a lot of the horrible painful migraines away. -my friends- all of whom have been lifelines for me this year when I needed help b/c of medical conditions/complications -my cats -the fact that I don't have to watch every penny- can go out to eat and buy lunch during the day. -high speed internet (on the lighter side!)

4. Even though I am homeless, |
|
I am thankful for the Salvation Army, my recovery and AA, most of my health, and most of creature comforts. I am thankful I could get a library card here in Lexington, and have access to my friends at DU and other places online. I am thankful I have made new friends.

5. The ongoing magic show that life is. |

My wife of 25 years who I love and, just as importantly, like.
Being retired and no longer bored for 8 hours a day.
Books.
Quiet.
Peace with myself.
And, a whole bunch of other stuff that I too frequently take for granted.
