Gates confirmation as secretary of defense--confirm but make him squirm
Those sounding the drumbeat for investigations of Bush instead of impeachment would be right if they were talking about investigating Robert Gates as opposed to blocking his nomination.

Democrats should make it clear they have no plans to block his confirmation, but also say they need to determine if he will lie and withhold evidence like Rummy and as Gates himself did in massage intel in the past. Therefore, he needs to be asked , answer candidly, and provide documentation of his intel fixing back then, at whose behest, and whose interests were served by the lies.

That would indirectly shine light on how the Bushies are operating now, especially as even some supposed progressives are buying the "Iran threat" crap.
