Suggestions for next year's Thanksgiving flight to grandma's house
1. 2 weeks before...call UPS and send a box with ALL your stuff. She can call you and tell you your stuff arrived safely.

2. Grandma has shampoo, toothpaste, etc

3. Pack the box LIGHT..Grandma also has a washing machine.

4. There's probably a Target near Grandma for "specialty" items.

5. Ladies, wear slacks with pockets and leave that purse at HOME..send the purse in the box

6. Leave all the superfluous keys at home..(you'll only need that house key for when you return

7. Buy that bottle of wine for dinner when you GET to Grandma's.

8. Pack the kiddies' stuff in a see-thru mesh bag (no backpacks)

9. Pay for parking at the airport..Don't ask your friend to buck holiday traffic to "run you to the airport".

10. Wash & neatly fold your stuff and UPS it back to your house before you leave Grandma's house.

Excellent
My wife travels quite frequently and she's a pro at it; packing, what clothing and shoes to wear, what to send, what to leave at her mother's for future trips, when to show up etc. The last time I took her to the airport there was a little old man who apparently hadn't flown in a long time. I felt sorry for him as he seemed lost and not knowledgeable about the hoops he had to jump through.

2. #9 option: or pay for the airport shuttle or limo ride.
That way you don't have to drive through the holiday traffic yourself either. It's always worth running the numbers on cost of parking fees vs. shuttle fees. Sometimes it's cheaper to depend on a shuttle service.

3. That will work for personal trips to relatives where the trip is planned well in advance
But for those of us who get called to take a business trip next week, to a destination we may never have been before in a Hotel we know little about until we arrive. It doesn't work that way.

We have to go through the BS coming and going. The stupid propaganda right now is very condescending to the America people "Remember the 3 - 1 - 1 rule" Like we are all in grade school.
