What I'm Thankful for
I'm thankful for the life I've been given, by whatever force, power, possibly divine, remaining a mystery to me.
I am thankful for November 7, 2006 when enough Americans went to the polls to express our collective will against the madness, cruelty and greed of the last 6 years.
I am thankful that I had a mother and grandfather who demonstrated to me the importance of being a Democrat.
And though it be under assault, I am thankful for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and all those who have sacrificed in their defense.
I am thankful that I stand with thoughtful, courageous people willing to speak truth to power.
I am thankful for the bounty of this country and that so many of us are willing to share.
I am thankful for the future and all of the citizens in this country who recognize that the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.
I am thankful for all of us Americans who recognize that we can still reach out to the rest of the world in a gesture of peace and goodwill, demonstrating what is still possible from our great country.
Thank you, fellow DUers, for your dogged pursuit of truth. Bless all of you and your families!

2. Thank you for this post
It is always good to remember the positive aspects of this life, while so much negativity from so many sides, whirls about us.

MY wish is for a wonderful loving Thanksgiving for all my fellow Duers.

Pay it Forward

4. What I'm Thankful For
I'm thankful that I found the Wiccan religion 20 years ago, and God/dess willing, I'll still be able to practice it legally 20 years from now.

I'm thankful for my husband, a reformed Indiana Republican turned Democrat, who is a wonderful guy, even with his faults. (ain't none of us perfect!)

I'm thankful that we are finally financially secure, and working towards actually having investments, etc.

I'm thankful for our two cats, who never fail to provide us with amusement.

I'm thankful for folks with names like Cardin, Webb, Whitehouse, Casey, McCaskill, Tester, etc. And all of the others that I didn't mention that are now taking our beloved country back from the theocrats.

I'm thankful that the rest of the world doesn't judge all Americans by our idiot pResident.

I'm thankful for Al Gore, a true son of Mother Earth, who is alerting us all to a growing problem. May She continue to smile on his important work.

I'm thankful that I'm doing something that I haven't done in six years - listening to a NEW Loreena McKennitt CD! I first discovered this wonderful artist in 1992, right after Clinton swept into power. It's fitting that she makes a comeback right at this time.

I'm thankful for all of my friends on DU. Even though we don't always agree on the fine points, I know that you'll always have my back.

I'm thankful that my Mom's cardiologist caught her latest problem BEFORE my parents came to visit for Thanksgiving. Yeah, she has to spend the weekend in the hospital, but it could've been a LOT worse.

Like someone else today said, I'm thankful that Keith Olberman is channeling Edward R. Murrow. I'm also thankful for Molly Ivins, Arianna Huffington, Kos, and others who run the blogs that allow us to mingle on-line.

I'm thankful that good science fiction is finally on TV in the form of Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Heroes, Doctor Who, etc. And I'm thankful for all of my fandom friends near and far.

And anyone else that I forgot!
