The mods need to do a purge and tombstone a few of them. I personally think they're Freeper lurkers awaiting then inciting, just like sleeper cells. I don't care how many of them have more than 1000 posts. That's irrelevant. They sound like Freepers, act like Freepers, incite like Freepers, and in my opinion they ARE Freepers. It's the same cast of dummies doing it everytime - and have you noticed they always show up on threads simultaneously, and gang up on the good posters? (No, not me. On the really COOL posters. I'm sick of it.) I could name them here, but I won't. As Cat Girl said so eloquently, they know who the fuck they are.

All they're doing is inciting anger and high passions here on DU so they can link to them from FR and run back to FR posting them. "See? See? They're not perfect, either! See? Dems can be bigoted too!" Notice the kinds of questions they're posting. Not Democrat questions AT ALL.

We need to make a silent pact as DUers to shun and shut them out cold like the Amish do interlopers, and not even reply when one of them opens up and posts something. 100%, 20 degree radio silence.

Leaving out the actual, physiological one that each human is born with, there are two kinds of assholes:

The self-admitted kind and the self righteous kind.

I'm okay with the self-admitted kind. I know many of them. They will tell you: "I know. I'm an asshole."

The self righteous ones never get it. They go around, constantly wondering why people are so mad at them. They take umbrage at any and all criticism. They spew their assholisms and sincerely feel victimized when others call them on it.

the idea is, if a person does something really mean, others will say to them 'you a$$hole!!' And they will knock it off, and/or apologize and generally stop being such an a$$hole.
But the self-admitted kind take it as a joke. They think it's funny to do mean things and to be called an a$$hole. They won't stop when called on it. They just say 'yeah, I know. Ha ha ha.' So you cannot stop their bad behaviour by verbally calling them on it. It takes legal or physical action, which is usually too difficult and/or dangerous.

Many times, the self-admitted asshole delights in his/her assholiness.

I suppose it it all depends on what one expects from people. I will say that the self-admitted assholes I know personally do make an effort to curb their behavior. I am delightfully surprised when they behave in a normal, civil manner.

One must also realize that the anonymity of the Internet allows for one to act the asshole more easliy. If the asshole were in a physical setting, the fear of getting his/her asshole ass beat would factor into the equation.
