bush did not look too good yesterday.
I saw him deliver his ridiculous turkey pardoning speech yesterday and man, he did not look too good. Major baggage under the eyes, puffy face, very, very tired looking. He never looked tired while he was going to fundraisers and campaign stops, he always looked well rested and frosty, but yesterday he looked quite haggard.

He's had a rough two weeks, and he's taken a major 'thumpin' in more ways than one. His pride is crushed, his whole administration and family legacy at stake, his super duper popularity is gone, blown away like the dust of the twin towers.

And his demeanor was one of defeat, he's slower, his eyes were heavy and he seemed to struggle to smile or crack a joke in one of the most comedy rich setups there is, pardoning a turkey, yet his comic delivery was flat and drugged. He just seemed like he was phoning it in, and like he hadn't had enough sleep, the poor thing, they make him travel so.

The man looked down, down and out, and nobody knows you when you're down and out.

13. They must have doped that poor bird up pretty good.
The turkey, I mean, not the president, although he may have been sedated too for all I know.

At first I thought it was stuffed but then it's head moved a little. The legs were stiff and still which seemed strange although I'll admit that I haven't had much experience with cradling turkeys in my arms.

Pretty ugly turkey too--they usually get one of the old fashioned colorful birds--this guy looked like he came off the slaughter line. Well, I guess that's one lucky bird. The turkey next to him may not be so lucky.

7. Georgie is a guy who's used to getting his way.....
and things haven't been going his way lately. Poppy had to come in and save his bacon ONCE AGAIN and boy blunder isn't having a good time any more. All the fun has gone from his pResidency. His halcyon days of gutting the Constitution and torturing "enemy combatants" are a thing of the past. He's going to be held accountable now and if there's ANYTHING a Bush hates, it's being held accountable for their actions. Everything is jake with them when they can run amok, destroying a country here, robbing a Treasury there, but OVERSIGHT? That word isn't within the Bush lexicon and, in the past when things haven't gone Georgie's way, he could just quit. However, the American people actually expect him to clean up his mess this time and he's NOT happy about that. Can't one of the servants do it? If he knew Presidentin' was such hard work he'd never have run in the first place. :eyes:

12. I think its a reference to "Tecumseh's Curse"
Supposedly Presidents elected or reelected in "00" years since 1840 have died in office. Ronald Reagan was the exception, but he almost died when he was shot.

More here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tecumseh%27s_curse

Assuming Tecumseh's Curse is real, it wouldn't apply to Bush because he wasn't really elected in 2000.

18. Yes, but it's not "00" years.
The "curse" has supposedly applied to presidents elected every 20 years since 1840. See the table in the Wikipedia article to confirm.

10. Screw him
He had a whole life of public adulation, when he should have been shamed for being a coward after he bailed-out without telling his crew to bail-out because he panicked, like the coward he is. The only reason he got a pass on that deal was his old man.

His son is just like him, garbage. The whole family is nothing but white trash.

21. "his super duper popularity"
He never really had it, in a sense. It peaked VERY high after 9/11 - of course it did! But it fell fairly quickly. It jumped again at the beginning of the Iraq invasion, but began to fall fairly quickly. It rose again with the capture of Saddam, but didn't stay up very long.

23. christmas vacation
I am sure that a nice christmas vacation down in Texas will do the trick for the President. If you think he's just going to sit back and do nothing over the last 2 years, you are mistaken. We need to be prepared for anything and everything from the W camp. He is going to do stuff to garner support from conservative voters so that the republicans keep the white house. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to bring back the marriage protection act. He knows it won't pass, but he will do it to please the "base".
