Has the PNAC been knocked off track, or is it full speed ahead? |
|
The great project for a new American century has hit a rough patch of track and has been slightly derailed by America's dissatisfaction with bush's war, the plan was to exploit the hell out of nine eleven, lock down the nation in fear and submission, attack the Arab nations and grab the oil and conquer the region, but then the American people spoke, and the PNAC'ers don't want to hear it.
Some are suggesting that the neo con crazies have been mortally wounded and will soon be crawling off to die defeated, but, others say the old vampires are just getting started, and phase 3 is about to launch any day now.
Which way does the foul wind blow for the signers of the project for a new American century?

1. I think people are pretty fed up with their bullshit |
|
This last election was sort of a shot off the bow for the PNACers.
In order for these bloodthirsty bastards to continue their quest for empire, there will HAVE to be a draft. And we just saw how thrilled the American people are with that idea.

I haven't heard any PNACer's backing off their ultimate goal. It was just poor implementation by Bushco.

4. I agree with you. I think they are laying low and regrouping and |
|
looking for some other avenue to power or patsy to get them there. We need to keep their names and the names of there followers out there and remind people constantly to that these people have brought the world to the brink of an deep dark abyss. That they are willing to destroy to gain their goals. These are evil men who hide behind slogans touting freedom for all but who would enslave the world.

8. Give UP? You've got to be kidding... |
|
They are scrambling like crazy to regain control. When you see Newt Gingrich resurface, Contract for America, Thousand Points of Light....you know they are busy coming up with some romanticized, feel good theme to give their legions of followers some BS argument to cover up the Truth.
As far as I can see, they are holding back declaring Martial Law. Martial Law is their Trump card but they are afraid to play it for two major reasons, fear it will collapse the economy and fear of Civil War. At this point in time, I think they are afraid they will not have military support, that the military will turns their guns against them if they try to imprison American citizens as Enemy Combatants/Non-Enemy Combatants.
This, I believe, is the major issue. They are trying to reinvent, to make the notion of mass arrests palatable to the American public. They are looking for a way, an idea, a law, an ethnicity, something to grab onto, to get the ball rolling as the inroad to begin the perversion of that decision. The ultimate decision to incarcerate people at will, people that by Bush's fiat will be incarcerated indefinitely as trouble makers/dangers to the Republic without benefit of counsel or trial.
Yep, I'm sure thats where they're at right now.

but glad that you have this thread. I was thinking about starting a thread after seeing C-spn a couple days ago. There was a guy on there from AEI who claimed to be a dem. and was saying that the Neocons originally came from the democrat party. I have heard this before, but don't want to believe that anyone from our side could be that way. I think the righties just want to paint the dems. as having something to do with the whole mess. I do know that Perle and Wolfowitz and some of the others were mentioned. I think PNAC= Neocons to me. The bastardw will not stop but will try to play a little loose until they see how the knucklehead in chief and his administration shake out. I know that "we" as a nation are still poking sticks at Iran, Iraq and Syria. Little dubby sure showed concern over the assassination in Lebanon, but never said a word while Israel was having it's way in Lebanon.
Edit to add: Joshua Muravchik, American Enterprise Institute, Resident Scholar discusses the future of neoconservatism and their views on foreign policy, specifically on the Iraq war & Iran. 53 min. --- This program was on the 21st of Nov. but I didn't link to the video. Microsoft has just changed everything on my computer and am having some problems. :argh:

9. Just a point of trivia.. |
|
After seeing Gibson's Passion movie, I was convinced Republicans are direct descendants of the Pharisees that crucified Jesus. Same mind-set, inventing reasons why Jesus was dangerous to their Religious beliefs. They labeled him The King of the Jews, then presented him as a threat to the government as if he were trying to wrest power of kingship by popular demand.

|

This is the only future paragraph:
" Although forced into retreat, the Israel-focused neoconservative camp remains strong. The neocon-led Foundation for Defense of Democracies, which was created immediately after the 9/11 attacks to advance right-wing Zionist positions in Washington, includes many former PNAC associates and has become one of the most influential policy institutes on the war on terrorism and U.S.-Israel relations.
PNAC is dead, but its delusions about U.S. power and the fundamental importance of Israel to U.S. national interests live on."
Is this what you're referring to?

..instead embed themselves in the government bureaucracy and in partisan think tanks so as to exert influence on both government policy as well as the GOP platform. They will just regroup and find themselves another easily manipulated GOP presidential hopeful to rally around and try again. They are like Professor Marvel, the man behind the curtain. We can't let our guard down because of the Nov 7th victory.

Have no illusions about that. People are shallow and fickle and love "winning".
But having failed, miserably, in their first grand experiment and the seed and foundation of future conquests, they are out of business... for now.
