Cingular SUCKS anyway
It's one of the worst cell phone providers in the nation.
Switch to T-mobile and its fabulous "fave 5" plan.

1. We switched from T-mobile to Cingular only because of the discount
through my husbands job. Instead of a family bill of 100.00.. its now 72.00. But you are right the service does suck. I prefer T-Mobile.

2. I like my Cingular.
I'm not sure how I'd judge one to be better.

4. Cingular is one of the companies . . .
. . . who boycotted advertising on Air America.

5. Was it really a boycott?
I thought another post explained that this is normal for advertisers to pick and choose the content that they would like to have their commercials play with. I do not like that many of those companies have no good reason to not want to be AAR, but I would be most concerned about those that ARE airing on RW hate radio, but NOT on AAR. If that list exists, then I will surely boycott those companies.

7. I personally love T-Mobile, I rarely have any calls dropped...
Edited on Thu Nov-23-06 02:03 PM by dubykc
and one time when I had them send me a phone and add a line for one of the kids, the phone never arrived and they sent it without a signature requirement. The little CSR first said I had to track it down. I said, "You expect me to track down an item I never received? Until I take possession of it, it's YOUR problem." She said, "i'm sorry sir, that's the way it is."

I demanded to speak to her supervisor and the supervisor agree to send another phone, but the phone I had ordered was out of stock, so in order to get it in a reasonable amount of time I would have to upgrade the phone. I said fine, cuz the upgraded phone would be mine or my wife's and the old phone would go to whichever child the phone was originally ordered for.

We got the phone in 2 days and a week or so later we got our bill with a charge for $279.99 for the new phone, the cost of the one we orderd was $29.99 because we added another line to the account.

I was furious, but finished going over the bill and in the account summary there was a "Goodwill credit" for $279.99 for the phone so essentially the new upgraded phone was free.

I was impressed.

9. That's the truth... one of the reason we switched form t-mobile to
cingular... We both needed new phones. Also, the savings with my husbands job made our total bill go down. But I'm not that happy with them. NSA spyers and all.

10. Stay Away From Sprint
Their coverage sucks, and they've bitten off more than they can chew by buying Nextel. We just moved from Sprint to Cingular a few days ago.

11. Alltel. If its where you are, its probably the best. Three really good things about them -

They don't extend your contract when you change your rate plan, all other carriers (and I sell 6 of them for a living) do.

T-Mobile, one that I have no exprience with, does have the fave 5, but Alltel has the same thing, called "My Circle," which allows you to pick 10 numbers to talk to for free.

And, in my experience from selling these things for years now, Alltel has the absolute lowest number of complaints for lack of coverage. I hear those complaints for every other carrier I sell, frequently, but it is rare with Alltel.

12. Cingular is great for me...
After doing business with Sprint, the Wal-Mart of wireless telecom (nothing really works as advertised), I went to Cingular.

Rollover minutes are great.

I can swap phones to anything I like (just swap the SIM card), so that means I can buy a new phone whenever and from whomever I choose (tons of unlocked GSM phones out there, hooray for European importers).

Their customer service is top notch.

Never a dropped call.

They have forums for techies where they freely allow people to discuss hacking their phone (the phone, not the network).

All in all, they are a great company and provided me with excellent service.

13. Over here, T-Mobile was no signal about 1/2 the time.
I couldn't wait to ditch them.
