Alice's Restaurant mp3
Here's the mp3 -- Listen to Alice's Restaurant!

In my house, like many others, listening to Alice's Restaurant has become a lefty Thanksgiving tradition.

The Boston Globe has a story about the tradition. And Arlo will perform Alice's Restaurant in New York this Saturday.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

7. The Massacree Revisited
A few years ago, Guthrie did a remake of the "Alice's Restaruant" record, subtitled "The Massacree Revisited." The slight update to the title song is hysterical, especially the reference to his attendance at the Carter inauguration and a certain conversation with the President's son towards the end.... Definitely worth adding to your collection.

14. I saw Arlo perform Alice at his premier concert at Carnegie Hall, oh so many
moons ago.....
PS...I also fell for my HS boyfriend when heard him sing the entire song from memory. He did this on the way to the Stop The Draft march in NYC, 1968

16. The actual song is easy to remember,
it is the long shaggy dog story in between that I can never remember correctly. ;-)

28. Dayum! We too!
One of our local classic rock stations also plays it a lot right about now.

We've been playing it for an hour or so no. We could go on and play it for another couple of hours--we ain't proud! Or tired of it, ever.
