I remember this time last year, most of you were very pessimistic about the state of your country under the clutches of Bush and the Republicans....This year you have much more to be thankful for since the mid-term elections!....and so I say....HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I really appreciate this from y'all, and hope things keep getting better for all of us. So many people I've spoken to from overseas don't appreciate the hell we've gone through and the discouragement we've felt since 2004. This is really uplifting for me. My 11 y/o daughter absolutely loves Canada (as do I) and hopefully we'll be paying you a visit this spring. She's going to love when I show her this thread.

17. Those of us who live near the American border (I'm close to N.Y.) know

that the problem is not the American people, but the present American leadership. Just this last summer, my family and American relatives and friends shared celebrations of Canada Day (our day is July 1st) and American 4th of July in a great backyard barbeque. This happens right across the country in border towns and cities. We're with you and know you have turned the corner...back to sanity!:loveya::pals:

Even though Canada is my home now, I still celebrate Thanksgiving today as well as in October. More good food and Football are good things :)
