Poll question: What will be GOP's comeback strategy?
I don't think they can give up their tax cuts for the rich, toadying for corporations, and weakening government in dealing with both, so they will probably change their packaging. But to what?

5. Your answer's the right one
They'll just do their sleazy best to lie their way into office again. We need that option added to this poll. :)

7. Other: They'll keep doing what they always do, and deny there's anything wrong.
They got a mandate when they stole the last two presidential elections by a hair, but this one -where they got their asses roundly whupped- was a "fluke"

8. LA Times columnist wrote on that. Dems lose, and they go into soul-searching, self-accusation mode
and even surrender to the other side in the form of the DLC.

When the GOP loses, it's because they weren't conservative enough, like a medieval doctor who thinks his patient died because he didn't bleed him enough.

9. Ronald Reagan
reincarnated. No, not the Ronald Reagan of Iran-Contra who ran up record deficits. The populist "Gipper" Ronnie of revisionist history. The "Great Communicator", even though he was almost as bad as *sh at stringing together a coherent sentence. Because after all, America "needs" a hero. What are all those authoritarianists to do, after all, without a fearless leader to guide us, lie to us, and steal from us, "for our own good"? As for *sh, oh, he was a "bad" Republican. But over here, look, see? This here is a GOOD Republican!

10. The most extreme homophobia we have seen in years.
Yes, they will get worse with it. There will probably be more homegrown terrorist attacks against GLBT people and let's not forget the abortion clinics and anthrax everywhere there is a Democrat. That's what I think they will do.

11. They're going to go McCain-style pseudo-moderate
At least for the next election cycle. As far as the American public is concerned right now, the conservative movement is dead.

to get away with that.
