my brother refuses to allow me to eat. He's dying from cancer, and is killing me at the same time.
I can't eat and i can't smoke and I am surprised that I am still able to breathe.

12. Oh my God. I don't really know what your situation is- |
|
It's my understanding that you live with your brother and are taking care of him? How is it that he must allow you to eat? I'm so sorry about your situation. But you really need to eat, whether he allows you to or not. I hate hearing that you're going hungry. It doesn't make sense.
 For what it's worth, I had a salad and water today. Total.

13. Okay. To answer your question, I was out of money. |

I was waiting for a bus at a bus station, and I hadn't eaten in god knows how long. It got to me and cut very deeply when I saw people cavalierly extracting greasy foods that I could smell from paper bags. There were references to food everywhere; on signs, in magazines, in the book I was reading. These people who were eating things like chicken fingers and fries were oblivious to my anger & envy because I could smell everything. I had forty cents on me; not enough money for anything. I wished I could eat unthinkingly like they were doing, they weren't even tasting it and they'd go throw half of it away.
That's how it felt.

15. What are friends for? It's the truth, |
|
and I will never forget what it was like to be pissed off at total strangers because they were wasting something I wanted so badly. They were doing something people do every day, but in my state of mind I felt they had some sense of "entitlement".
