3. Starring heavyweight Dennis Miller |

  Patterned after The Daily Show and Colbert Report= typical freeper submission that has to copy ideas from Democratic thinkers. :silly:

13. Dennis likes to use a lot of big words and the freepers know some of them |
|
so he makes them feel smart. They throw Dennis up as an intellectual to show they really aren't anti-intellectual except Dennis is not really that smart..He just thinks he is and the freepers believe him..

5. If they are that bad... |
|
the bring it on. All completely unfunny - I guess it is easier to parody mean-spiritedness and stupidity, than to try to turn mean-spiritedness itself into something that is humourous.

I didn't laugh once.
Oh, right...the eye roll thing... :silly:
That Gorin creature is truly painful to watch - I gave up at 4 minutes.
The one called Stine seems to think he can funny up hackneyed tripe by trying to copy Sam Kinison's delivery. My, but he's the bold one.

after watching both Gorin and Stine -- who is worse? My husband begged me to quit out of the Gorin video -- her nervous laugh (well, at least she was laughing) was sending him over the edge. And Stine? What hackneyed writing - the difference between cat owners and dog owners. Wow. Haven't heard that before. Or his weather jokes. No, wait I have, in the middle school cafeteria during parents' lunch. You know what, the right deserves these people. This is karma, people. We get to bask in The Daily Show and Colbert while the Repubs get these guys. That's justice.

Faux-funnywoman Julia Gorin delivered one funny line- UNINTENDED AS IT WAS- when she was yakking about Republicans in New York coming out of the closet.

I'm looking at the stuff for the show on IMDB and there's no mention of who is writing for this.
I love John and Stephen but you guys must know that there is a team of writers that they both keep locked in a basement. People that never appear in front of the camera.
I look @ full cast and crew for both the Daily Show and Colbert Report and I see long lists of talented people, under the category "Writing Credits". I look at the IMDB for this proposed thingy and I see nada.
Is Surnow (the producer) expecting the on camera Talent to write their own stuff? Is he depending completely on Zucker?

15. This has to be gratifying |

to The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Real Time with Bill Maher. The right should be concerned about the impact of these shows. Sure -- they're on cable. They don't have the wingspan of O'Reilly, Limbaugh, or Hannity. But - they are getting the demographics. The comedy shows, with their political bite, are reaching that elusive younger base - and that elusive middle base. The right keeps talking to the same people. They listen to Rush on the radio while they're driving or at work. Then they get home and watch the blowhards at Faux. Meanwhile, the political comedians are reaching people bored with the same talking points repeated like a drumbeat from the right. These shows have an impact. Even when people don't watch, they hear their family members, co-workers, and friends talking about what "Jon Stewart said the other night". The messages are dispersed into our big cultural cocktail party. Good luck to the right with their venture into comedy. I don't think they have what it takes. Unless, of course, Ann Coulter's rightwing benefactors who bulk buy her books want to promote her stand-up routine of hilarious "poisoned creme brulee" jokes.

Although racist comedians would receive a perfectly warm welcome from DUers too, now that I'm thinking about it...
It's not possible to determine which party best suits him, I don't think.

Someone please let us know if you catch specific dates for the new show....that's one time I want to watch fox, want to feel embarrassed for them. Man, think of all the fodder for the GD the next day! So, alert DU if you find out the dates.
