Book Ban Backfires
The leader of the New Zealand National Party, Don Brash, has resigned in the wake of a party backlash over his attempt to ban a book by investigative journalist Nicky Hager. Last week Brash gained an injunction from the High Court of New Zealand banning anyone in the country from publishing the content of his emails. Hager's book, The The Hollow Men: A Study in the Politics of Deception, was set to be released last Tuesday but was blocked by the injunction. Based on internal National Party material, including Brash's emails, the book investigates the party's links with the Exclusive Brethren and U.S. noeconservatives. Brash has indicated that he will allow Hager's book to be published within days but claimed his resignation was totally unrelated to the book. "My own opinion is that it was partly Don Brash leaving and it was partly other people pushing him," Hager said.

The Exclusive Brethren is a secretive RW religious order which supported Bush and Martinez in the 2004 Election, remember that.

IT really interesting, but it doesn't seem to matter. Not only George, but Jeb's business and social connections to S American gangsters didn't keep him from getting elected. We had names, dates, and transactions, and the press barely uttered a word. The wingnuts go into advanced denial, and these crooks get elected as long as they end every sentence with "God bless America".

3. Apparently they paid for a large ad for Mel Martinez in the SP Times
An undisclosed ad to the FEC, they like "to fly below the radar". I will have to get my hands on a copy of this one! They spent a million on W in 2004...
