Pelosi should not choose Hastings or Harman to head Intelligence Committee
Hastings, innocent or not, has too many controversial questions surrounding his impeachment as a judge before he came to Congress. Harman, with access to intelligence that she should have known was false or illegal, sat idly by or agreed with the Repubicans on the Committee. Obviously, she does not have the judgement to head the Committee. Pelosi should shoot both of them down and choose someone totally new.

4. You are absolutely correct on this issue. I don't understand why
we're having problems finding dems without such checkered pasts to head these commissions. I just don't understand why, when we bitch so damn much about republican corruption (or even the appearance of same) we are putting up candidates for important positions who have the same problems.

What struck me as particularly strange here the other day during a discussion of Hasting's and his 'problems' what that some here were saying that anyone who did not support him was being a racist. Now that I could not understand whatsoever. Why is it that when you point out someone's past record for shall we say 'less than honest' behavior do the charges of racist always come out? Are people going to say that any resistance to the nomination of Harman are going to be based on 'sexism'?

Why can't we be as honest and live up to the standards that we DEMAND others live up to? (Damn, ended that sentence with a preposition. Oh well.)

5. I'm just prepared to be very disappointed in the Dems use of their
new majority.

I'm afraid we're in for some upsetting results.
