9. Well, at least that ass monkey most likey won't win again
He's the most influential person in the sense that his idiotic, shallow, simplistic attitude towards the Iraq war cost the Republicans their first election in 12 years.

8. Don't they choose who THEIR panel decides upon?
I always thought that the "polls" were just there to make people "think" they has a choice in it all.

Did the poll-takers decide on Buffet-Gates last year?? don;t think so , but they were the cover:shrug:

28. The winner(s) last year were the Gates and Bono
Poll-takers don't decide who wins, the Time editors do. They just do the online poll probably just to create interest.

12. I really think Howard Dean should have made the short list.
Edited on Fri Nov-24-06 02:44 PM by Minnesota_Lib
He held a sometimes contentious coalition of Democratic leaders and strategists together and they pulled off something that would have been unthinkable a year ago.

27. It's not about just great people
Time 'person of the year' can be a man, woman, or idea that for better or worse, has most influenced events in the preceding year.

Hilter was the winner in 1938.

Here's the complete list since 1927. Interesting choices:
