No doubt, the White House would have preferred that Maliki, the PM of Iraq, come to Washington but, political realities would not permit him to do that. So they compromised. Mr Bush would fly to Jordan, not the Green Zone of Baghdad, to meet with Mr Maliki to discuss the situation. What will they agree to do about this recent decline and disorder in the capitol city?
Mr Bush only knows one approach - violence. He does not know diplomacy. He will encourage Maliki to "crack down" on these insurgents or otherwise, he will find someone else to do the job. Mr Maliki will find out just how tight the puppet strings really are, in the hands of Bush and Cheney. Of course, Cheney has gone to Saudi Arabia, and we can assume that this is related to Bush's trip to Jordan. What do they want the Saudis to do?
This meeting is another corner turned in this fiasco and disaster in Iraq. Unfortunately, it appears the US has crossed the Rubicon and there is no turning back. Listen to Bush but watch what Cheney does in Saudi Arabia. A new policy is developing in this secretive cove called the White House.

that Iraq is so FUBAR that Bush can't even go to the Green Zone at this point.
You are correct though, Bush's only solution to any problem is more violence.
