A current quote by Bill Clinton that I think hits the nail on the head
Edited on Sat Nov-25-06 10:39 AM by Toots
" Democrats were not given a Mandate, they were given a chance"..Bill Clinton....... We still live in a fairly conservative country and we need to pick our battles well in the next two years. We need to make some important changes and not get caught up in the small stuff. We need a Health Care solution. We need to end our Imperialistic ways and especially remove our military from Iraq. We need to get a grip on our national checkbook and credit cards. We don't need to get caught up in the Pledge or gay marriage. These are not really life threatening matters. I know they are very important to some and they will get addressed but we must set priorities. Our time may be limited. We have a chance now to do some real good. People are dying daily for lack of proper health care. If only they had been able to have access to medical help early in their sickness they may have been saved, but the way our system is set up people don't seek help until way to late. There is no such thing as preventative maintenance for the poor. People are dying in huge numbers in Iraq and it must stop. We are spending over and above our income by over a hundred thousand dollars a second. That is not sustainable. It must stop and we have to be the ones to stop it. They will call us unpatriotic when we begin to cut Defense funding but it must happen. We need to reserve our resources for the citizens first. The Corporations can care for themselves for a short while. Just think if we were out of debt we could be spending that hundred thousand dollars a second on America, on our water system and alternative energy and our hospitals and our highways and ports and airports and ????? you get the idea, We need to concentrate on the big picture for the near future at least. We can chew gum and walk at the same time though and I think holding this Administration accountable is no small matter. Anyway just thought I would share another Clinton quote.

4. Actually, considering the state of grammar and formatting on line in general
it is possible for a reader of your OP to mistake the whole block as a Clinton quote, figuring that the poster put the quotes in the wrong place. Not blaming you, just pointing out how someone could mistake the whole paragraph as a Clinton quote. It might be helpful-if you're so inclined-to leave some space between Clinton's actual quote and your interesting commentary.

3. Do you realize how much would be accomplished by now in the way of healthcare

and anti-poverty measures, and environmental stewardship, had Clinton pursued the outstanding matters left in IranContra, BCCI, IIraqgate, and CIA drugrunning?

No turnover of Congress, no impeachment, and no Bush2 administration in to dismantle all the good that was done.

Here's the reality of BushInc - you give these monsters any room to regain their strength and THEY will come back stronger to destroy the good.

6. But On The Bright Side
Clinton blew open the doors to "free" trade with China, and with other countries that are now taking all of our jobs. So the Predator Class can get much, much wealthier, while the pinheads in the Middle Class get sodomized.

GO BIG DAWG!!! Wal-Mart is so proud of you and the Mrs.!!!
