"What if" Al Qaeda could do one of the following, which is most likely to happen and why?

A - 'Kidnap and/or take out' top US Officials visiting the Green Zone in suicide attacks?
B- Cause another 9/11 style attack on the US mainland?
C- Trigger a US attack on Iran?
D- Cause a massive Iraqi assault on the Green Zone with great loss of life?
E- Cause massive uprisings in US allied Middle Eastern countries, and interfere with
the flow of oil to the world?
F- Cause a coup which deposes the Maliki Government, with no government left in charge?
G- Do something else first.

Our military 'wargames' every worst case scenario. You can bet they have analyzed each of the above
scenarios. Each event would have an impact and a response.

Not sure what, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to have some earth shattering event happen. I have already deduced B, C and D are already occurring or have been planned. They are not going to give up power and money without a fight.

is what "al Qaeda" will do--after all, that's who they work for. Their main purpose recently seems to have been "C," but so far, they have failed.

Iraqi insurgents, on the other hand, probably will eventually work toward "F." Each of the three major factions will then seek to fill the power vacuum.

8. The group that calls itself "Al Qaeda in Iraq" has nothing to do with Al Qaeda.

They had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks and they have very little influence in the progression of the civil war currently going on between the Shi'a and the Sunni.

To imply anything else just promotes the Rovian propaganda that the war in Iraq is part of the "War on Terror"

Whomever calls themselves "Al Qaeda in Iraq" are merely assuming a jihadist "brand" name, and are relatively insignificant actors in the current sectarian bloodbath. Your poll choices are therefore based on a false premise.

A more reality-based set of speculations would look something like this:

~B is unlikely to happen, but if it does, it will be because the bush maladministration needs the distraction and excuse to lock us down.

~C might happen, but it will be because Israel and the bushies WANT to do it. If there is a triggering event to make attacking Iran look "necessary", it will most likely be either a false flag operation or the result of a deliberate provocation.

~E will happen as a result of C. It will have nothing to do with Al Qaeda, it will simply be an organic response to U.S./Israel aggression.
