War with Iran? Only idiots would consider it.
Edited on Sat Nov-25-06 01:51 PM by ck4829
They have a division of the armed forces that could be easily used as an insurgency. And their numbers? They have over 10 MILLION people in it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basij

We don't even have 200,000 troops in the entire nation of Iraq, and we can't contain that. I hope the hawks really consider the numbers of the Basij if we really are to invade Iran.

3. We should be very nervous then..
Because we certainly have an idiot in the White House.
Hopefully he can be stopped before he duplicates the "success" of Iraq.

7. BushCo is a bunch of delusional idiots, unfortunately.
The neocons who thought conquering Iraq would be a cakewalk
believe that Iran can be knocked over with a few air strikes.
That's right. With the help of pro-western exiles, the people
of Iran will rise up and topple their government. They also
said that Iraqi girls would throw flowers at the feet of
our troops.

8. And yet the Bush Regime is seriously planning for war with Iran...
...according to Seymour Hersch who wrote extensively about this back in November 2005; warning that Israel wants war with Iran, and would launch an attack in June/July 2006.

When this news came out, Israel instead launched war against Lebanon all the while using propaganda, both Israeli as well as U.S. republic owned media propaganda organizations trying to lay the blame for Hezbollah's militant response as being funded, and supported by...Iran!

Their attempts to get support from the American, as well as the Israeli people failed, but one battle lost doesn't a lost war make.

Little known is the fact, that, according to Noam Chomsky, in May 2003, Iran's head mullah, Ayatollah Khamenei, who is Ahmadenijad’s boss, reached out to the Bush Administration to "negotiate directly with the US. In its proposal the Iranian government agreed to accept the most stringent new International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) protocols on its nuclear program. The protocols would involve onsite inspection of all nuclear sites, something that our own government has never accepted. These tough verification measures would make cheating virtually impossible.

Iran also changed its long standing rejectionist policy on Israel. It agreed to support the 2002 Arab peace initiative, which offered Israel an end to the conflict if the Israelis would abide by UN Security Council resolutions (242 and 338) on Palestine. This was an extraordinary development, yet, it was not even reported in the US.

On 06/06/2006, Iran tried again, and was again rebuffed by the Bush Regime, according to The American Prospect. Read here: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article14497.htm

Have a look at our MSM these days; it's all about Iraq=Bad, Iraq=Bad, Iraq=Bad...

The writing's on the wall...

10. It seems that mutiny is the best we could hope for
I just can't see the armed forces endorsing these plans especially after the bad taste of iraq fresh in their mouths. True, the Air force, and to a lesser extent the Navy hasn't been mauled the way the Army and Marines have, but, they have to know what would be in store for them.
It's their duty to refuse orders like this.

14. what about the 2 sub destroyers heading out there ?
I heard on the Malloy show just the other day something about two ships heading to Iran that deal only with subs and their only purpose would be to deal with Iran .

Is there anything to this escalating a war with Iran , is this something to be concerned about ?

15. An attack on Iran by the US will not happen.
Israeli Govt. would love to bomb the nuke sites but I don't think that they are suicidal. I still strongly feel that this situation is power games. No matter that BushCo is comprised of delusional Assholes. The power behind them will not allow the destruction of the US Economy, which a war with Iran would surely bring about.

16. Isn't the economy already being destroyed ?
Certainly not to the extent a war on Iran will cause but we are already experiencing quite alot of damage .

I just don't trust ANYTHING these criminals are involved in and they have been talking about Iran for quite some time now as if Iraq was just the first step in taking over the middle east .

I am not an alarmist by any means but I don;t trust this or go on faith .

But we have already proved countless times that we don't learn anything from those.
