It is pretty quiet out there
This is the time for the Democratic party to be out there pushing their message and defining their new term in power. They should be pounding the points home and constantly talking about their 100 days plan.

I'm hearing crickets. (one little radio address by the majority leader is just a small almost unnoticeable blip on the screen)

The GOPers are taking advantage of the lull and taking the spin bull by the horns. They are using this time by declaring the Iraq war as a Democratic problem, which of course the Dems are doing nothing about.

This quiet time reminds me of the quiet time of Ned Lamont's vacation right after his winning the primary. The winning momentum stalled, in fact died.

The Democratic party needs to get their spin apparatus in gear, , , NOW.

1. Last weekend the Dems dominated the Sunday morning shows...
Do you know who is up this weekend?

I agree with you that the Dems need to get ON message and IN gear re: Iraq right now! This is BUSH's disaster and we must exit NOW!

2. Last weekend was seven days ago
News Junkies are jonesing.

GOPers wouldn't have let seven hours of dead air go by without filling the airwaves with their next spin cycle.

The Democratic party needs to learn how to be the one leading the news cycle instead of just following along behind.

3. Words without actions are meaningless.
After the new Democratic majority is sworn in THEN I expect not only words but positive actions to reverse 6 years of Republican damage to our country. It's normal for the political front to be quiet this time of year but after the holidays, YES, I SAID HOLIDAYS, The political front had better start popping. I have no doubt it will. Mr. Bush is in for quite a wild ride I would imagine. :)

4. It's not quiet at all. Russ has said impeachment is a bad idea.
There are shortages of workers that need to be replaced with cheap foreign contractors.

Global warming is partisan myth.

We can't get the crops in because amerikans are too lazy to work.

It's perfectly normal that politicians make millions while holding an office that pays $165,000.

Nothing to see here, move along now. Oh look! There's a really shiny object over there... :eyes:

5. Probably what you're hearing is the effects of tryptophan and the occasional muted burp.
Things should start to gear up when everyone goes back to work. I trust you had a good Thanksgiving down there?
