Freeper Hatred on Parade
Lately, I've been tempted to post regarding the downturn in Freeper activity...as a lurker and one who watches the opposition, it's clear that there have been either purges or simply a major downturn of freeper posts. This, however, proves that the hatred is still alive and real. The question asked was:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1743924/posts?q=1&&page=51

Is one American’s life worthier than thousands of Iraqis?
Here are the Freeper replies:

Absolutely YES!
6 posted on 11/25/2006 3:21:33 PM PST by Ken522

"Not just yes, but HELL YES!

"Anti-War = Apathy. Freedom has a price that bitching never pays." I thought you might like this."

"You are right, but it's multiple factors coming together. Uncommented propaganda by Al-Jazeera always raises my eyebrows. So nevermind, maybe Gunny Gene is indeed a good one..."

"Damn right!!!! We used our brave men and women to clean your toilet of a Country, put in new johns and I'll be damned if we should now wipe your butts. All I've got to say is get off your Iraqi a@@ and start saving your Country, or go to where the sun don't shine. (Please don't make me mad)"

"Is the life of an American soldier more important than the lives of tens of thousands of Iraqis? Why, yes, yes it is. Next question?"

Folks, there is no reasoning with, no talking to, subhuman chickenhawk GI-Joe Wannabees that believe the shit that these miscreants believe. Some may think that they can be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century...I'm not that optimistic.

For these Rush-Limp-ball-lovin chickenhawks, the message has to be pounded again and again, as it was this past week in "Doonsebury".

2. I wonder if these people would cut off their own foot
if they decided it was "different" than the rest of them....we are all interconnected, and what we do to others DOES effect us....they are so deep in ego-driven fear and hatred they don't see this.

Are they actually as fucking stupid as they seem to be?

I'd say that the right-wing think tanks should at least get together and try to make it sound like you can reconcile all this, but it appears that they really don't have to.

mean more than "those brown people" in the desert.

Not only that, but they really do believe that they are better than everyone else in America.

I don't even waste my time talking to these freakin' morans anymore.

16. ran into one this morning
getting my hair cut. this fellow picks up the l.a.times, points to al sadr's photo and says "here's the devil". all these bush haters want us to cut and run and this guy would like nothing better to blow up the coliseum (where USC and our lady are scheduled to play a football game). my barber was agreeing. then the fellow, who says, "i'm a republican and i can't understand these democrats want us to cut and run." calmly as i might i told the fellow and my barber to look at the election results. it isn't the democratic party calling to bring the troops home, it's the united statesian voters; had it not been the voters' will would the democrats have taken back the congress? the fellow then says "for the first time, i agree, we have to bring the troops home".

20. FR Purge
it's clear that there have been either purges or simply a major downturn of freeper posts.

Most recent purge resulted in the flight of FR scientists to http://www.darwincentral.org/

Jim Robinson banned a number of freeps who wouldn't toe the creationist line. See http://forum.darwincentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=1372 and http://forum.darwincentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=1661

The post you quote here shows what they've come to.

But he gets it. Also, he summed it up more eloquently than I ever could have. Aside from his jab at DU of course. :)

Posted: Wed Oct 25, 2006 11:57 pm Post subject:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been calling it Free Theocracy for some time. Basically sums up the doublethink at work over there. It takes a special kind of mind to profess fealty to a peaceful and loving God while simultaneously calling for nuking Mecca, taking pleasure in the deaths of illegal immigrants, telling blatant lies about everything from evolution to Terri Schiavo, and denying the humanity of "faggots" and other undesirables. Very Christ-like.

I feel bad for the reasonable majority over there, as the site falls to the nutjobs. Luckily for their own sake, many of those who I respected have already been banned or have left of their own accord. A shame that what was once the premier conservative site has degenerated into an endless stream of insane ramblings, Coulter worship, poll denial, name calling, Fascist Absolute pings, conspiracy theories, boorish jingoism, "witnessing", paranoids who think it's a bio-terror attack whenever they catch a cold, anti-intellectualism, crypto-racists and anti-semites testing how much they can get away with, inane vanities, and general intolerance of dissent from the FR norm on any issue. The level of debate has dropped like a rock. Might as well call it "DU Right".

And it's a shame because there used to be something for everyone on there. It was a home for all of us camping out somewhere on the American right. Now, you either think X, Y, and Z, or you're a traitorous, anti-God, queer-loving commie.

21. I Sort of Agree with One of Them
"We used our brave men and women to clean your toilet of a Country, put in new johns and I'll be damned if we should now wipe your butts. All I've got to say is get off your Iraqi a@@ and start saving your Country, or go to where the sun don't shine."

now, I don't agree with the way this message is packaged, because it is nasty. But let's wrap it a little differently: our brave soldiers went over there and got rid of that rotten dictator. We helped train new army and police. Now it is time for you (the Iraqis) to step up to the plate.

Many of us are saying that we need to draw down our troops, and it almost sounds like this person believes that also. The death toll of our brave men and women is a fraction of the death toll of the Iraqis. So, when people point to the death toll of Americans as the primary justification for pulling out of Iraq, some might see that as an implication that American lives are more important than Iraqi lives.

22. Is the disconnect in that...
...the time between the invasion of Iraq and now is that they don't realize our aggression?

Enough time has passed that many sound-bite driven Americans actually believe that the U.S. is in Iraq beacause of a "causitive" war. Enough time has passed that many actually believe that we are in Iraq because of perceived Iraqui agression, not U.S. agression.

This is something I've noticed...the longer the war goes on, more people think that the Iraquis are to blame; they've forgotten who was the instigator of this war. They see photos of injured Iraqui kids, and they say, "God, how horrible that they are bombing their own people." They forget that these bombings were not happeningg before the U.S. invasion.

23. No doubt there have been major purges. A significant event like the 06 losses requires introspection
and debate, self examination to interpret the message and determine the way forward for them.

That sort of thing will not be tolerated.

31. This raises an interesting point
Mainly that the American people turned against the Iraq war because of the loss of American lives over there, nothing else. No one here should fool themselves into thinking that the Iraq War became unpopular because of the toll it has taken on Iraqi civilians.

If American casualties were low then I don't think the American people would lose a wink of sleep if a million Iraqis were killed.
