2. To go along with authoritarianism is to BE authoritarian, in mine, and Kant's book....
(To see the correctness of my claim about Kant, think about the 2 (conceptually) elements that are absolutely required in an exercise of authority. Then think about the "positive" version of what Kant said about the specific case of lying.)

7. I don't believe that's true.
There is a sub-set of the left that is authoritarian as well, and these folks are definitely not Republican, and yet their means of achieving goals that we may ultimately support would be the antithesis of Democratic Party values.
