Watched a hilarious movie "American Dreamz" last night
Imagine a country where the President never reads the newspaper, where the government goes to war for all the wrong reasons, and more people vote for a pop idol than their next President.

A satire who focuses on reality shows like American Idol. Sally's dream is to become a music star and to participate in American Dreamz show. In order to achieve this, she leaves her boyfriend and mixes up with the host of the program. Meanwhile, an Arabian boy travels to the USA to visit their relatives and, accidentally, he becomes a participant of the show. The president of the USA is kind of depressed, but the vice president comes up with the idea of a live presentation in the show.

Absolutely hilarious must see film!

1. I saw that in the theater, it was funny
A bit too benign of a Bush parody, but funny nonetheless, how they portrayed him as a guy who never reads and is controlled by his evil handler.

I took my son and his friend; his friend comes from a Limbaugh-listening family, and while he seemed to enjoy the movie, he went home and told his mom, "They were making fun of George Bush!"

Imagine if I'd taken him to see Fahrenheit 9/11.

6. I'd never heard of it - I'm visiting my parents and it was in their netflix pile!
F9/11 would have rendered them headless!

2. My hyper catholic sister in law and her husband
are visiting for the holidays. They saw that movie with my wife last night while I watched the SC-Notre Dame game and came back and told me it wasn't very good and it was disrespectful. Wife just rolled her eyes. They don't like * but they believe that as president he is owed respect. They're here until mid December and I'm counting the days.

4. Sounds brutal.
I would be forced to take up drinking. Or drugs. Or glue sniffing. Perhaps all three.

5. the reason they thought disrespectful is cause it represented bush
Edited on Sun Nov-26-06 01:56 PM by seabeyond
the really sad part is their contempt for a movie that shows a truth about bush instead of an outrage that a movie could should this about the president and be accurate... saying the rolling of the eyes should be directed at bush.... being our president

3. If Bush was like the Dennis Quaid Prez
He'd be halfway respectible. Still stupid, but not cowardly and arrogant. Can you see Bush trying to stop a suicide bomber the way Quaid's character did? Ha!
