10. That seems to be what they're saying on their site
Odd that they would offer the new version free but stop offering the old free. You'd think that they might do it the other way around.

6. We have a computer help and support group on DU
If you ever need a question like this answered, you should check over there. Here's that same question being asked and answered last week. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=242x10636

The guys over there are amazing and sometimes I don't even have to ask a question, I just check the archives and they have already covered it.

8. The computer group has bailed me out of many a mess. Well
worth a quick search. I have found answers and help for all kinds of problems...mostly of my own creation.

9. an alternate free one is Avast! - I use it, and prefer it
AVG let 3 rather nasty backdoor trojans slip onto my puter. Had to re-format to clear it out. The avast home version is free to individuals and non-profits. Just register and get the key via email.

14. My Avast updates once,
sometimes twice a day. Haven't had a problem with anything bad since I started using it.

And it's in my computer too.
The upgrade is recommended - and you won't wake up with a heart of steel.
I just wish I had a good substitute for my old Sygate Personal Firewall.
