2. I'm not a fan, personally, as an Econ major |
|
Although, I'm not like that vast majority of Econ majors...While I can admire and acknowledge his intelligence, the ways in which he applied it were awful, and his ideas wrought a whole bunch of crap for many, many people, to say the least...

"Newton was wrong, wrong not only now but then, but Newtonian physics provided the foundation of ideas on which later generations of physicists, including Einstein, built. Keynes was wrong, but his attempt to make sense of what he believed happened during the Great Depression provided a theoretical foundation on which later theorists, including Friedman, could build."
I still would take Keynes over Friedman - fiscal policy over monetary policy, especially monetary policy run by enemies of the working class like Greenspan.
Plus, it is wrong to say that Newton was wrong. Newton was imprecise more than he was wrong. If I get X = 3 in Newton physics, the true answer is going to depend on velocity, X is really 3 times the square root of 1 - v squared over c squared, and thus X = 3 is pretty close for all velocities less than .2C (or 133 million miles per hour) where it is still 97.97% accurate.

 Not a fan of monetary policy, especially as Mr Friedman thought it should be carried out...nope.
