1. Good discussion....
I don't think I like this guy from The Atlantic.

2. He did well
The GOPers were on the attack - they just aren't used to hearing from anyone left of center. I predict some GOP nervous breakdowns now that Congress is back in Dem control, so we'll be asked to comment more now than since 2002

3. I was impressed
by Stoller. And the other guy, sorry -- I don't remember his name -- was rational and courteous, if misguided. It was interesting that the conservative guest was so critical of Condi Rice. He maintained, correctly, that Rumsfeld has become the whipping boy (deservedly) but that Condi's lack of experience as National Security Advisor led to the chasm between the Sec. of Defense and Sec. of State that led to the breakdown of security before 9-11. And exacerbated the problems that led us into Iraq through more miscommunication and misinformation.
Meanwhile, Stoller held his own against the rightwing callers and was articulate, informed, and overall a class act. I particularly appreciated his comments on the economy and the Bushian mythology that Americans are thriving. We're not. Stoller outlined where we're falling behind and why. The rightwing callers kept to the corporate fairy tales. But fewer people are buying that as we see, as Stoller pointed out, "$12/hr. jobs being replaced by $6/hr. jobs."
If you get a chance, watch the replay. I'm optimistic about our young people if these two, including the conservative!, are the messengers.
