2. Everthing seems so much worse now..
we aren't just going to lose Iraq - it will be the WHOLE region which has the oil which we still stupidly depend upon.

if it weren't for the oil and our historic support for Israel, we could just walk away.

I always thought the Armeggadon scenarios were overblown, but thanks to Dumbya, it just may happen.

4. I'm sickened by the thought that some people will find
it far too easy to forgive what America has done - and I speak of Americans when I say that.

Some won't even consider that there is something to forgive and some will be glad to forget it all, if they can just go back to believing all is well - whether is really is or not. Then there are those people who think once Bush is out of office, that everything will just get better. That the acts of Bush can be just be put behind us - the tortured can't be un-tortured. The dead can't be brought back to life and those illegally and indefinitely detained will never get those years back.

I'm a citizen of a war crime nation. My country tortures people and justifies it as good for the country.

Say that to yourself a few times - let it wash over you.

I feel it in my bones.

6. And it's the Dems fault, you know. All the media say so.
It's our fault that it's gotten worse because we're fighting instead of doing something. That we haven't even taken over yet would seem to be beside the point. Why don't the Dems (aside from Murtha, Kerry, Feingold etc) have a plan!!??!!

:sarcasm:

7. We tried to stop it. You and me both.
I don't include us among the neocon traitors who started the Iraq war, now civil war.

8. I know exactly how you feel, foot. The final lines in "Bridge on the River Kwai" come to mind....
...where Maj. Clipton (James Donald) views the scene and can only utter "Madness.....madness."

Only the Iraq adventure is madness multiplied by 100.

10. "Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war!"
That's what we have wrought.

I remember telling someone in my office, right before we invaded, that there is a reason for the phrase "the dogs of war". That war does not bring out the best in people; rather, it brings out the very worst, and the situation often slips beyond any ability to control the bloodshed. And that is what we are seeing now.

God have pity on the poor people caught in the hell that we have brought upon them. On the other hand, I do not wish a merciful God for those who architected this disaster. As far as I'm concerned, a nice wrathful Old Testament God would be just the thing for them...

Unfortunately, the Old Testament God rather liked warmongers. Must be why the frothing-at-the-mouth megachurch pastors find all their quotes there.
