Police Officer injured in Bush motorcade dies

This really is a sad circustance for this officer and his family. There hasn't been much news released about this accident, so it is very curious to me at least. I'm not into tin-foil, but there seems to be complete silence about how this happened in the first place.

Plus, does anyone else find that fact that Bush gave the Officer a "Presidential Coin" to be a bit tasteless and insensitive, especially given the fact that the Officer's family had to practically beg for people to donate blood? Plus, I keep running Dickens through my mind - in A Tale of Two Cities he writes of the aristocracy flipantly paying the peasants spare change when they were run over by their carriages.

to go a country 30 years later than he was supposed to. Air Force One had to be grounded and thus the backup plane had to takeover and make that fateful stop in Hawaii.
