CQ Analyst Suggests ‘Rumsfeld’s Leaving Is Just The Beginning,’ Cheney Might Be Next

Appearing on MSNBC this afternoon, Congressional Quarterly political analyst Craig Crawford speculated that, as “neocons are heading for the hills,” Dick Cheney may be the next to leave the administration. He claimed the Vice President’s “authority is waning, if not gone.” “And my point is why would he want to stick around in this environment?” he asked. “All I’m seeing is a man getting isolated more and more.”

1. He has plenty of coin, he can enjoy a very luxurious retirement
Unlike the "little people". The Dick will be very comfortable right up until his heart, or what ever he uses for one finally stops.

3. He is sticking around to use the power of the office
against any and all investigations.

If he leaves, all legal defense expense is out of his own pocket. Plus he would be on his own.

5. Make it easier to try him.
But whoever the republicans choose for a replacement will get a leg on on the rest of the republicans to be nominated for president in 08.

6. After January 3, any replacement must be blessed by the Democrats
Nominess to fill the VP slot must be approved by both houses of Congress. If Cheney leave before January, I hope some Senator remembers how to pronounce "filibuster."
