John Edwards should run for... |
|
Senate!
Does he really have a chance to win the nomination for President?
Does he have better odds of beating Elizabeth Dole in North Carolina in 2008?
Has he given thought of this? Has anyone floated this idea?

1. He's been there done that |
|
and he's got a good chance of winning three out of the four first presidential primary/caucuses.
Can you say Edwards/Warner?

Thankfully, North Carolina has a deep Democratic bench, so there shouldn't be a problem getting a viable candidate.

I hope folks are paying attention to the big picture in the future, and not getting wrapped up in the short term.
I can't believe ANYONE couldn't beat E Dole. Then again, it is NC. (not a dis on the south, just a realistic observation of the predominance of repub victories)

6. I don't know if he would have won re-election in '04 |
|
had he gone that route instead of running for president (then vice-president). That was a different time though - maybe he could be elected again if he were to run again in '08.
I'd vote for him again in a heart beat for Senator (then again I'd vote for almost anyone to replace Elizabeth Dole) but not as president. We need a presidential candidate with lots and lots of foreign policy experience in '08 otherwise we're screwn.

If Gore and Obama run, I think a run for the Senate might make more sense.
Maybe this should be crossposted in the North Carolina forum and see what they think.

he should run for President. He's a very strong candidate. You can't go home again.
