here = interesting/detailed article on alternative energy strategies ->
a bit long and perhaps technical but there are other ways to save the nation's energy situation without selling out to the oil industry and agriculture corporations (as opposed to small farmers etc).

includes details on biomass, carbon reduction, alternative fuels, reducing dependence on petroleum/gasoline, and more.

1. One thing I learned about alternatives versus fossil fuels is this...
We need DIVERSITY in energy sources, period. Whether its in regards to portable fuels like bio-diesel, fuel cells, electric, etc. or stationary sources, like wind, solar, or geo-thermal, we need to figure out what is best for LOCAL conditions, and use those for those areas.
