However, they have quite the taste for sarcasm. As satire is meant to advance CHANGES in society, there's no way RW'ers could possibly know what satire is.

Dark hair, kinda dweeby and slightly tense-edgy about TDS? I saw a guy hawking that same schtick on a FoxNews show several weeks ago. Definiately a WTF moment. Stewart should do a bit on him.

Thanks. Even the pundit seemed to realize he was walking down a blind alley and almost stumbled over the "comedy" part. That was almost funnier than the segment as a whole, that moment when he looked slightly lost.

22. He actually said "they have to *become* fair and balanced" |
|
which is what makes his remark stupid. If he was acknowledging that currently they just take the piss out of any stupidity, but most of the stupidity comes from the right, and that if something does come up from the Democratic majorities in Congress, they shouldn't ignore it, then he'd have a point; but he was implying that TDS already ignore chances to laugh at Democrats - despite the amount of jokes they've made over the years about Clinton, Gore, Kerry and any other prominent Democrat.

It has to rank as one of the top ten most stupid things ever said on the tube. And to top it off, by having two right-wing commentators in that segment, Joe showed just how un-fair and un-balanced HE is.
Joe has been going after TDS for quite awhile now. Funny though, I can't recall Jon ever doing a "Look there's a dead intern in my office*" bit, so I'm puzzled as to why he's so upset with TDS.
*"Not dead, just resting."

This is laugh out loud funny. Just funny. There is nothing to be angry at here - it's just too absurd. Jon's writers couldn't have scripted it better. If Jon does a segment on this, he won't have to doctor it, just do one of his patented "Whaaa?" looks.

I thought the guy was going to cry. Someone needs to tell him that 1) Comedy Central does not present themselves as "fair and balanced" they don't advertise that way 2) The Daily Show specifically and repeatedly says they are "faux news" 3) the only credibility a comedian, Jon Stewart or any comedian" is "do they make you laugh?" Stewart will make fun of Pelosi if he thinks Pelosi is going to get him a laugh. I don't see how she can be as funny as Trent Lott, but maybe.
When I saw that poor guy, I thought "OMG the folks on the right thinks everyone must play by their rules, no matter what the rules." While they are the school yard bully, the Stewarts of the world is the kid standing just out of reach going "nah, nah, nah, you can't touch me." If the rest of the right wing is anything like this guy on Scarborough they are just plain angry/sad over the Stewarts of the world.
